Bagels and English muffins i always slice them anyway. “Fork split” my ass. I’ve been burned by horribly separated bread TOO MANY TIMES and I won’t have it. So now i opt to slice them myself.

Agreed

The bread isle is absolute trash these days at Hannaford anyways. Vermont bread had great stuff but they went bankrupt and wonder bread bought their assets and never brought them back. Stop and Shop has a good Natures Promise break/muffins but they apparently dont share with Hannaford even if they are owned by the same company. So I buy Daves bread and just pay up the ass.

For Bagels I like Rays in the freezer isle.

Dave’s is great but I usually don’t care to spend that much. When I’m feeling fancy or I’m not already emptying the checking account, I’ll grab it.

I grew up crushing Lenders bagels lol and i just kinda stuck with them forever. They were a buck a bag for the longest time! I typically don’t freeze them though. I’ll have to look for Rays.

Happy National Carrot Cake Day! Luckily we grow lots of delicious carrots in Canada and they are available all year round. They are also easy to grow and store. One of my favourite cakes (I have many), I just might have to bake one now.

I haven't had carrot cake in years because of the walnuts most bakeries and people put in the cake. Stupid allergies.

I usually get 2 packs of Daves at BJs.

Wishing Taylor all success in Carolina.

The Bruins never should have let him go. For nothing, basically. Score another one for The Smartest Guy in the Room,

I really like carrot cake, but prefer it without Walnuts. It is probably my favorite dessert.
I have tried all kinds of bread and like pumpernickel, but it is not good for pb and j for example. Sour dough is sort of nutritious but only good for certain sandwiches.
I am from Western MA. and I once counted 35 pizza places across only about two small towns!

I saw two beautiful Bald Eagles this afternoon. I could see their nest a few trees over and it is massive! I love that these magnificent birds have made such a comeback in our area. I wish I had taken my camera with me, it was stunning. By the time we went back, they were gone. It isn't far from where we live so hopefully we will see them often.

The FDA re-issued their recall on Walmart's broccoli florets yet again due to listeria. I've had them twice now in my salad and been fine but I definitely don't want to take any chances. So frustrating. Yes, I'm weird and love broccoli both raw and steamed.

all the pizza talk and I am definitely getting pizza after work.
Theres a place in worcester I like called Volturnos, They have buy one get one free pizza on Mon and Tuesdays. Will take the daughter there. We will each get our own pizza.

The whole “House of Pizza” thing amuses my wife to no end, they’re not a thing where she grew up. It blew her mind how many there were around here.
There are alot around my area. One of them has this potato pizza which is really good.
Its just mashed potato on the pizza, no sauce, with bacon and cheese. I always get the side of sour cream for dipping

It's objectively bad pizza but I have nostalgia for those kinds of house of pizza joints from growing up in New England.
I would kill for one of those. I’ve found one place here that’s decent after years of trying and it’s still not as good as home
