Value of: Hayton to Montreal at the draft

This is how I feel. He would be a perfect fit for 2C on the habs. We would have to move out a body though and offer picks and prospects.
Do they really want to move him?

No, we don’t. Center is our weakest position. We need more players like Hayton, not fewer. We’re also trying to turn the corner on a rebuild so unless someone offers us a similar player to Hayton who is younger (which realistically means we’d have to add to the trade), I don’t see a reason to move him. Unless we somehow end up with extra centers this off-season rendering Hayton redundant, I’d rather just hang on to him. You’d have to overpay to pry him away and I don’t think Montreal is the right trading partner to do it.

Utah needs young, win now players so only way they give up Hayton is if they trade for a high end 2C because their center depth is ass already and giving up Hayton makes it worse. Ideally I'd like to see Hayton as 3C with a new 2C brought in so they can run Cooley/new guy/Hayton down the middle.

Edit: Hayton traded to acquire assets used to upgrade is the only thing that makes sense but there is no reason to do that when they have the futures to just keep Harrison and acquire a 2C

Utah fans, any chance of a fit here? Montreal has 2 1sts which will be in the mid teens plus plenty of prospects. Is there something in particular you guys need?
Like most teams, a high end 2C or better. Utah can't trade a C, especially Hayton at this time because of his good FO work. Only way Hayton gets moved is for a better C coming back.
