sorenson is a far better fit that Luke was. Brodie is washed, he was washed when in Toronto. Kyle screwed the pooch on that signing.

experience on D is good and Murphy, Jones, Martinez would have been plenty of veteran experience...not to mention Vlassic already plays like a Vet...Brodie is useless, just waive his ass and send him to the rock. he is blocking the devt of kids...

Before we signed Brodie I wanted a veteran 6/7 guy. If Brodie sucked for a million and change on a one year deal I'd get it. Two years? Go back to the signing thread. Everyone here was asking why?

I don't think anyone has been as tough on Brodie as I have. I've posted quite a bit on here on how I think the guy is washed. But I still don't hate the signing.

When it was made, the Hawks were likely going into next season with Seth Jones being the only vet defensemen under contract. Yeah Vlasic already plays like a vet but it's still good to have more experience than that likely playing with 4 other kids on the blue line. Yeah Murphy is under contract but I think KD wanted the flexibility to trade him this year at the deadline.

So yeah, he's bad and he's here for another year at $3.75M or whatever but with all the ELC's going to be on the team next year, it's not like they're gonna be against the cap anyway. At this point, they'll probably buy him out going into next year and sign another vet to replace him and won't be all that hurt by it.

I'd move Reichel up at this point. Staple some guys and figure out the others.

Bedard - Bertuzzi
Teravainen - Mikheyev

You keep them together, no doubt. And you figure out the rest.
Bedard/Bert on the PP is fine but I'm not so sure they make a good fit at even strength. Bert doesn't have the wheels. I wouldn't mind seeing Mikheyev with Bedard for a stint.

As for Reichel, he remains a 175 foot player.... just has a lot of trouble finishing and I'm not convinced that will ever change. Hope I'm wrong.
