Bedard on the wing, thats a start, but put him on the right side and call up Nazar when he's ready to be his center
If Nazar is ready????? ... and that's a big if, based on his play we witnessed in preseason. And if he struggles, how will it affect his development? That is the question.

Not that he was terrible but he was caught several times making ill-advised plays in his own zone. A definite no-no for a young player trying to make an impression.

Wow! Has anyone looked at the standings lately? I know we’re not at that quarter point yet but other than maybe 10-12 teams…the other 20-22 are within 6 pts of each other…3 wins! No extremely bad teams so far, Montreal(bottom in East) is only 4 pts out of Wildcard spot, Nashville(bottom in West) is 5 pts out
Our Blackhawks are only 4 pts out of a wildcard…2 wins!
Winnipeg is the only REAL dominant team so far
Blackhawks have played 11 games against Western teams ahead of the in the standings so far(4-6-1)…promising

If Brodie and Kaiser go in ahead of Allan, I must be watching a different game.
If Martinez draws in on Thursday, either Allan or Kaiser should play the right side and the other the left side. Brodie needs to sit. As for your "watching", consider the following:

Alex Vlasic- Short-handed TOI= 46:18. Short-handed GA/60= 9.07.
Connor Murphy- Short-handed TOI= 30:06. Short-handed GA/60= 7.97.
Seth Jones- Short-handed TOI= 46:36. Short-handed GA/60= 6.44
Wyatt Kaiser- Short-handed TOI= 27:10. Short-handed GA/60= 2.21.

Vlasic and Jones take the hard PK minutes against the oppositions top PP unit but Kaiser's numbers on the PK are really good.

Kinda what I predicted. All the dogsh*t teams got better on paper and the mediocre/mid teams didn't actively make themselves worse. I think it's a fairly well suited scenario for the Hawks to improve their goal differential significantly [aka "play competitive hockey"] while still walking out of it with a high pick.

That Icehogs game yesterday--yeesh. Sure, they are young, but the Griffins are too and they just got walked the entire game. Anyone counting on those guys being major contributors in the NHL any time soon are way ahead of themselves.

Brodie having that extra year just makes it more of a problem. If it was a one year deal I think they'd be happy to ditch him and just play Allan.

I genuinely loathe Seattles roster construction. So many mistakes made with that franchise.

Hogs are 2nd youngest team in League by weighted average, Griffins are 10th oldest.

Grand Rapids has Shine (31), Snively (28), Watson (32), Dries (30), Rafferty (29), Didier (31), Lagesson (28), Dello (27) in key roles. Even guys like E. Soderblom and Tuomisto aren't babies.
