GDT: Hawks @ Canes, 30 Jan 2025, 6 PM CT

It was a rather MEH game, we did well for the tank, and although the SOG were close it did not seem we played as well. Too many careless turnovers entering the O zone and being outplayed on the boards is a recurring theme.

So ..Hawks fall down but never the opps...
Hawks loose races to loose pucks or unawares/react late..but never the opps..

Hawks fail to clear on1st attemotor 2nd or sonetibes 3rd attempt..but the opos clear on 1st attempts with it seems kikev80% more efficiency than the Hawks..

Opps take pucks to thenet with ease but Hawksxstrughlevunlessvthey get a break-away or 2 on1 (occaisionaly)..

Oppswin 90% of board battles vs Hawks forwards in the Hawks d-zobe most games vs Hawks it seems,....opps win it seems 65-70% board battles in Hawks o-zone vs.Hawks forwards..

Opps have puck control itvseems like 70-80% of the time in Hawks d-zone ...Hawks seems like have puck control only 20% of the time in Hawks o-zone...thus lenthy opps possession in Hawks d-zone..short Hawks possession in Hawks o-zone ....

Hawks sticks on board battles seem Weak ...opps sticks in board battles seem string.

Opps seem fast.. Hawks seem slow...Hawks checkers late or out of position...ooos checkers seem fast and right on their checks fast fron goidvpisitiobs.

These are tge "details" of the game.. opps good..Hawks bad......

Hawks =Tank team...what else do you expect from a talent deprived,intensity/compete deprived, weak physicality, unfocused Tanker level team...sure when a goalies has a great game this bunch can steal a game..but otherwise not realky in same league with the vast majority of teams inthe NHL..
So what do you expect from such an incapable squad?

It is what it is..

Two things of note on this play by Slaggert- 1) The read and then effort to get the chance short handed and 2) The effort to get back into the play.

I always thought his skating was above average for the NCAA but the same holds true for the NHL. He's worked at that aspect of his game. After his slump in production during his junior year at Notre Dame, he was written off by many as any sort of meaningful prospect. For prospects and young players, progress is not linear.

Victimized on two goals last night.
I don't know what happened to him this year?

I've never been a fan, but to see him take this far a step backwards really is something. I would have thought he could have kept mooching points off Bedard if nothing else, just like he did last year.

I get an irrational amount of enjoyment in following his league worst +/- despite being scratched for 15 games.

Below replacement level at this point.
With anyone else in the lineup the Hawks may even win that game.

Great f***ing play. I was never too excited for him, but he's changing my mind early.
