Fun fact. Jason Coyle and Rick Hahn (former White Sox GM) both graduated from Harvard Law in 1996. The White Sox and Reinsdorf connections are everywhere with CHSN. What a terrible decision the Blackhawks made.

CHSN is effectively Stadium. Stadium was started in part by Jerry Reinsdorf. Last year Reinsdorf purchased controlling interests in Stadium through Silver Chalice sports media entity. Jason Coyle founded Silver Chalice with Brooks Boyer and White Sox ownership back in 2008.

The Blackhawks likely have zero power or say in any of this. They literally hitched their wagon to a Jerry Reinsdorf pet project that has been years in the making. Morons.

Comcast just sent this out. Doesnt seem like a great sign things will get done? Or a negotiation move?

"On September 30, 2024, NBC Sports Chicago will cease operations and no longer be available. The games that were previously available on NBC Sports Chicago will now air on a new channel called Chicago Sports Network, which Xfinity does not currently carry. Learn more

We’re evaluating the Regional Sports Network (RSN) fee that applies to your current TV package and will communicate any changes in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, great sports programming is still available with Xfinity. Just say “Sports” into your Xfinity Voice Remote to view your options.

Thank you for being an Xfinity customer."

They've been hitched since SportsVision started in 1981!

The Wirtz family aren't smart people. If they were, they would've had the foresight to not sell the Bulls and would've had enough content for their own network for all these years.

I just got that too. So how the hell do we in Chicago watch Hawks games?

Nothing has changed .... since the '60's when Old Man Wirtz cheaped out... the Blackhawks have consistently been behind when it comes to the airing of games.

After Bill's death, I thought that era was finally over but maybe not. I'll reserve judgement until they finalize the deal and the changes settle in.

While I'm happy I have Directv (and also a TV antenna), I still think it's shit how they haven't gotten any other agreements with providers yet. This launch has been so mismanaged and I'm sure it'll f*** over a bunch of you for tomorrow (and who knows how long thereafter).

Us Hawks fans are used to it! ;o) Still remember Hawkvision PPV when I was a kid a lifetime ago.

I just don't care. They're going to suck again, the Bulls always suck, and it's a blessing not watching the White Sox, so there's zero incentive for me to do anything additional to watch this team. On top of the fact that I don't watch many games live, anyway. I record a good portion of them because I'm typically playing hockey when they play, and there's no chance I'm spending money on OTA DVR.

Get f***ed Danny Wirtz and Jerry Reinsdorf.

If you guys want to get nerdy and have fun, look into a couple things. HDHomerun, Plex, and PiHole. I don’t get OTA stuff but I record a shit ton of hockey games this way. Also.. PiHole is awesome and you don’t get served ads at your house at all.

The Chicago Sports Network and Astound RCN have reached a carriage agreement, and those customers should see the new home of the White Sox, Bulls and Blackhawks when it launches at 5 p.m. Tuesday, the Sun-Times has learned.

Negotiations are ongoing between CHSN and Comcast, the largest cable provider in the area, but those customers likely won’t be able to access the channel at launch.
