I met Petr Sykora in a pizza place over in West Orange, NJ where the Devils players lived at the time. My dad actually delivered mail to Claude Lemieux when he was having a heated phone discussion with Lou over pay. This was 1995 after he got the Conn Smythe btw.

Growing up, as a small child my dad would always take me occasionally on routes when he would deliever for the Devils. I would just casually go by into these gated homes in West Orange NJ and see Marty Brodeur and his bulldog or run into, well anyone really it was always an adventure.

My favorite story is my dad offered me Randy McKay jersey because he was fixing a computer for him or his daughter, I forget which one. He declined because it wasn't a Devils jersey but a stars jersey. I am still sour he didn't accept.


OH and getting tickets from this giant roll from the players wife's (Carpenter especially) was always a plus because it was ALWAYS right down front and the way Continental was set up if you were down far enough your feet could actually touch the ice.

I was a very privileged kid at the time (i wasnt even in Middle School) BUT I'll cherish those memories. Even meeting Doug Gilmour at a random Wendys one time and talking to him for like 5 to 10 minutes. One of the nicest guys I remember meeting.

Was invited through a Budweiser rep, to the Canucks dice and ice event. Met Zack McEwen, Ben Hutton, Elias Pettersson, Erik Gudbranson, and had dinner directly beside Jacob Markstrom. Markstrom was cool, I was taking a picture of me and my date, and Markstrom just walks up and photo-bombed us, it was awesome.

Not really met, but close. I use to work as a paramedic at any United Center events in Chicago several years ago. Was working a game and we were walking around the building a couple hours before game time, and saw Jonathan Toews walking to the locker room, he made eye contact with me and gave me a nod from about 10 feet away. Being a blackhawks fan my whole life, I of course layed a massive brick in my pants.
