Quality win. Top to bottom, special teams, 5-5, everyone played good, everything was clicking.

Also, the Pens do not strike me as a team that's gonna be threatening to be back in the playoffs. That looked like the Canes slicing up a bottom feeder.

So far this year they've looked like a different team nearly every night. Hell, they only showed up for less than 2/3 of the Buffalo game and still pulled that one out.

Postgame thoughts:

- Burns had a hell of a game. 6 shots on net, solid defensively and sacrificed his family jewels in the process.
- I’m starting to think KK is a little like Pitkanen. He’s not going to be a real flashy player, and so many people will criticize him for it, but he’s doing all the little things right. Tonight was a great game from him.
- Freddie looked panicky at times, but ultimately, all that matters is the end result. 26 shots against and the only one that got by him was a perfectly placed corner shot? Yeah, we’ll take those.
- The 1st line was real quiet tonight offensively, but considering the heater that Malkin and Crosby were on, spending their time shutting those two down works just as well as scoring goals.
- Speaking of shutting down, HELL of a job by the PK. Very few scary chances against, and a lot of great defensive moments throughout.

Ok, but where were 5,000+ of them? Outside?

The Pens are where the Red Wings were in like 2018. They’ll keep selling out for a while on the strength of STH plans from the glory years. But you can just look at a picture of the crowd and see that a bunch of those sales are paper transactions, not a product being consumed.
