Up until last game, a big deal was made about Bobrovsky winning 12 overtime games in a row, tying the all-time record. So if they don't win 14 in a row, it's luck?

Can't deny they have been fortunate but they also have the best goalie in the league and a guy ascending to superstardom in Laf so

Plus they have the leadership of Mark Messier Leadership Award winner Jake Trouba, leads through the bows
The guy has been trash, we want to get rid of him.

it's not luck when you win the presidents trophy and are in the ECF

maybe you should readjust your ideas of what it is to win or be a good team in the NHL

…when you win the President’s Trophy and are in the ECF doing exactly this all season long. The Rangers offense is hyper-opportunistic. It’s not luck, it’s just what they do. A lot of times that manifests on the power play but not always, as we saw today.

Luck doesn't matter. Taking advantage of the opportunities your goalie and team present do.
They have a great goalie who is playing great, that's probably the most important aspect of any team in the NHL playoffs.

The only "luck" they've had is that they got to play a terrible team in round 1, which was an advantage they earned in the regular season.

Goalies can control game just like a pitcher can in baseball. Does sport-world diminish baseball teams win when their pitcher controls the plate? No they do not, and that shouldn't happen when a goalie controls the net. Both baseball and hockey are a team sport, and goalies/pitchers are part of those teams.

This was like, our first legit bad game of the whole playoffs. Even game 5 against Carolina was one bad period.

The last two games, they're outscoring the Panthers 6-2 at even strength.

The narrative around this Rangers team, and ESPN shills it f***ing constantly, is a bit ridiculous.

The Rangers aren't unbeatable at 5v5, I think that's a valid criticism, but they're not a bad hockey team.

Out of the 5 goals the Rangers scored today, 4 of them were as high-quality as chances get, and the Goodrow shorthanded goal was a perfect shot. Goaltenders have a .700 save percentage league-wide where Goodrow put that shot. The Rangers generate quality pretty consistently, even in a bad game.

I remember when the great Islander dynasty team (4 straight cups) was darn lucky to escape a bad Pitt team in sudden death 5th game OT. 1st rounds were only 5 games. We were due for some good luck after lots of bad luck in previous years.

Idk man, maybe racking up the most points in the league over 82 means the team is kind of, good?

And perhaps people need to realize analytics arent the end all be all. Analytics tell us carolina will win every year because they just pepper a high volume of horrid shots

We're coming off of three straight games of winning the xG. And we lost one.

The Rangers don't defy analytics as much as is made out by the narratives.

The things with the Rangers is, when they don't have it, they get trucked like they did today. It tanks their analytics overall.

They have way more good games than they get credit for.
