Never saw this jackass before. I thought his Winnipeg slam last night was totally uncalled for. Hopefully he is done when TSN loses their rights. For those that missed it he was advising to lock up our young talent for the long haul because "no one wants to sign there and on one wants to go there". Or something close to that. Typical Toronto-centric garbage. Did this idiot even know that Winnipeg was receiving this broadcast?

I always though he was a moron... And honestly, I dont care what he says about winnipeg.
He was calling a fan a loser last night on twitter, that makes him just a piece of **** now.

Jeff O'Neill is the same guy who though Nazem Kadri running over and concussing Niklas Backstrom was "a dive", and the Backstrom was fair game because "he was outside the crease".

O'Neill, Steve Simmons, Damien Cox...it's all the same thing. Say really dumb, agitating and arrogant **** so that you get your voice heard above the GTA media din.

The fact that he chose to attack rather than apologize will hopefully prompt TSN to insure his mug or voice never be seen or heard again.

O'Neill will have a very short leash on TSN. Slagging Winnipeg for no reason on national TV won't go over well. If the conversation had anything to do with signing FA's the city might be relevant. When talking in game highlights? tool.

Are you referring to his (since deleted) tweet? That was a doozy.

Diving into the sesspool of negativity @odognine2 as rep @TSN_Sports on a ntl @NHLJets broadcast -Think about it, Your bosses sure will!

Jeff O'Neill @odognine2
@ValParker7 ill take getting fired telling the truth you loser. Figure your life out

Haha. Stay classy, Jeff.

I never saw that tweet. Wow. Hopefully the people who write his cheque at TSN did. I have complained about him to TSN audience relations.

Didn't he tweet something incredibly offensive during the lockout? I don't have the desire to revisit that time in my life, so I'm not going to look it up. :P. I figure some of you guys have better memories than I do....

Just looked up his stats, not a bad point guy but his +/- for his 12 years in the NHL is a combined -115 :amazed:

Telling the truth? He makes it sound like he said something shocking no one has ever said before. "Hurr durr did ya ever notice Winterpeg is cold?".

People aren't upset he told the "truth", they're upset he took a shot at the city on National Television when the current discussion didn't even have anything to do with free agents. They were talking about some of the Jets young talent.

I'm not sure if this will have any effect. However I also emailed TSN's audience relations in regards to this Jerk.
anyone else who would like to do the same..

Even if TSN just stops showing him during Jets games I will be happy

He is all class anyway you slice it :sarcasm: TSN really scrapes the bottom of the pit for their national on air talent. The camera work also sucked. Thank goodness most of our games are on TSN Jets.

Well, I would appreciate it if you didn't say this is a "Toronto problem." I know you guys in the west like to blame every problem of Canada on Toronto.

O'Neil tweeted an obscene and nonsensical message to Bettman during the lockout, as follows:
"Wanna Make Whole in your f-ing head..." He subsequently deleted it.

http://www.torontosun.com/2012/11/21/jeff-oneill-to-bettman-wanna-make-whole-in-your-f--------head

The reason it was nonsensical is that he admitted elsewhere that player strikes are a losing proposition for NHL players and that he himself lost millions because of the one in '04.
Therefore, the people he should have been attacking were Donald Fehr and the PA.

One of the few redeeming features of the twitter era is that it gives you a glimpse into the
minds of people you're dealing with, before they have an opportunity to cover up. O'Neil's is small.
