Prospect Info: Hartford Wolf Pack/Cincinnati Cyclones Thread: Part XV

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Roobroeck is earning a call up. 15th goal of the season. Call up the players that earn it not AHL vets.

4 goals from rookie players.

3 points for Roobroeck tonight

Why man? Don't speak this into existence.
When has Drury not do that. Traded Mancini away for a team that isn't close to becoming a consistent playoff team. Love JT Miller but, the Rangers aren't a piece away unless he was traded here to replace Mika and Kreider next season as one of the vet leaders here.

I don't know if Roobroeck is still at 205 lbs. but if he is at 6'7 he probably still needs to fill out a little. He's had a really good year though and he's coming on strong towards the end which he did last year towards the end of the OHL season and into the playoffs. He's not as fast as Edstrom or Rempe. He's closer to Brian Boyle. I think he's putting himself into the conversation as to seriously competing for an NHL job in the pretty near future. I wonder what a line of Roobroeck, Rempe and Edstrom might be like?

Roobroeck is having a very nice debut campaign, but we should pump the brakes on him a bit. It's hard for guys with skating issues to stick in the NHL, so he's far from a given. Edstrom for example is a good skater and while Rempe turns like a semi, he has excellent top end speed.

Also not clear where the narrative comes from that Drury will ship out prospects for old guys. In the past few years:

Out
Mancini
Korczak
Grubbe
Rueschoff
Skinner
Lundkvist
Reunanen
Barron
Keane

From that list, I'd take back...Barron? I'm not including Kravtsov or Andersson because I don't really consider them prospects, but if you do, you can add them to the list and it doesn't really change much. This goes back to the beginning of 2020.

We're more likely to trade draft picks.

From everything is saw of him in Oshawa and limited clips in Hartford, I don’t think he’s a bad skater. Better than Rempe IMO but without the top end speed you mentioned. He can also improve as he fills out and gets stronger overall. Coming on toward the end of his first pro season is what you want to see.

I hope the new coach gives us:

Edstrom-Roobroeck-Rempe

At minimum to see in the preseason

Milwaukee ties it with 1:26 to go.

With a win Hartford could be 5 points back of Springfield with 9 to play, Springfield having a game in hand. Hartford really needs both points tonight.

Garand has started the last 3 games, all wins, with the last 2 being back-to-backs. Maybe they are going to ride him as much as possible the rest of the way to try to get into the playoffs.

They play again on Wednesday, then Saturday, then not again until the following Saturday and Sunday. There's no reason he can't play those first 3 games and maybe the 4th as well. They have one more back-to-back in the final 5 games, so he can play at least 4 of those.

It's good to see him having a solid year. He's 20th in the league in GAA, tied for 9th in save percentage, and tied for 8th in wins. The wins total is impressive given where the team is in the standings. He has 19 wins, and the league leader has 23. Hopefully he can win a bunch more down the stretch.

With Quick already signed for next year, it's a good bet Garand will be in the AHL again, but that's okay. He turns 23 in June. That's still pretty young for a goalie. Hopefully he'll get some games at the NHL level and then be the backup in 2026-27. People keep wondering if we'll trade him, but there's no reason to do that. He will still be exempt from waivers for the next 2 years.

I noticed they recalled Boyko and that he was the backup last night. Something may be wrong with Domingue.

That makes sense. Still, I hope they plan to play Garand in most of the remaining games. Domingue has posted a save percentage above 90% only twice in the last 7 games, and his record for the year is terrible. He has only won twice in his last 12 starts. If they want a shot at making the playoffs, they need to play Garand more.
