Coverage on mailloux for the GWG was terrible too. couldn't see who was on the ice.

"Lucas Edmonds exploded offensively for the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) during the 2021-22 season. As a rare 21-year-old rookie who was drafted into the junior league in 2017, he led the OHL in assists with 79 and earned the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy as the top-scoring right winger. This the Rangers fault for not drafting quality defenseman that have real potential. Korczak should have been dealt for a dman. Hartford has enough forwards

Over the last 4 years, we've only had 3 1st round picks and 1 2nd round pick. Maybe we could have made some different decisions with the picks we had, but there's only so much you can do to keep the farm stocked with limited draft picks.
The guy they traded Korczak for. He's not even really a prospect. He's a fourth line winger who will probably be gone in the summer. What kind of defenseman do you think he'd return? An AHL/ECHL tweener? Demand for Korczak was obviously not high so I think the Rangers probably took what they could get.
If you want a good AHL defenseman you're going to have to surrender more than Ryder Korczak.

I would like the organization to trade for Springfield’s (St. Louis Blues) defenseman Matt Kessel.
I wonder if they would take Zac Jones for Kessel and a 2026 4th?

I won’t be surprised if we learn that Korczak asked to be moved. He wasn’t going to become a grinder - his game is skilled and he wasn’t getting these opportunities even in Hartford. For the Rangers organization he was just too far down the line and with each year he’d only fall further once he wasn’t able to impress early on.

This seems obviously the case and good on the Rangers for letting him try to stick somewhere else. Careers can be pretty short in minor league hockey...
