Elmer and Wall are the only guys I really see as good bets for Jacksonville this year. Maybe Huska if he struggles. Skinner? He looked okay last year but depending on how the roster shakes out I could see it. I guess the same for someone like Newell if he regresses and is pushed out by other additions (although I actually liked him two seasons ago).

We’re probably going for season tickets this year.
@cwede on Jax’s website it only referred to it as a multi year deal, so makes sense I guess.

I’m pretty excited. The barn down here gets pretty full and loud, it’ll hold up to 15k I believe. I heard they were trying to go for the AHL some time down the road. They’re building infrastructure down here now with rinks etc.

With free agency starting tomorrow I thought I would do an update on the Wolfpack likely roster for next year and predict whether we see any under the radar Ranger signings for Hartford.

The Rangers currently have 36 contracts for next year with six qualified RFAs. With Nemeth and I would expect at least one forward the Rangers would have 44 contracts and room for a couple of contracts for Hartford.

Here is how Hartford/Jacsonville shapes up:

Goalie: Kinkaid, Huska, Wall -- Unless they trade Georgiev and then bring in another veteran to battle Kinkaid for the backup I doubt we have another Ranger signing. Perhaps a Hartford signing for Jacksonville

Defense: Schneider/Lundqvist, Skinner, Jones, Robertson Reunanen, Bitetto/Hajek. I'm assuming either Schneider or more likely Lundqvist is with the Rangers and either Bitetto or more likely Hajek is the 7th defenseman. This is some huge improvement over the Hartford defense of last year. So there likely will be some additions to fill in the extra defenseman role but I would assume they would be Hartford contracts.

Centers: Khodorenko, Richards, Brudziński. Khodorenko and Richards are strictly centers while Brodzinski could play anywhere up front. The Wolfpack also played Reuschoff at center. A veteran is possible.

Right Wing: Greco, Ronning, Reuschhoff, Pajuniemi, Elmer. Greco also played left wing and Reuschhoff played center. A veteran is possible.

Left Wing: Gettinger, Geertsen. This is pretty light. Greco could play left wing. Otherwise a veteran seems likely. I wonder if Di Giussepe is brought back.

So I think we'll see 1-2 veterans brought in on Ranger contracts to play on the forward lines along with the eventual typical 6-8 Hartford contracts to fill in the pieces.

Darren Raddysh to Tampa Bay.

Gregg McKegg signed by Rangers and likely back to Hartford as a veteran forward.

I think I read when Henriksson signed his contract he said he was going back to Sweden this year.

We might see 2 Swedes as additional centers. Henriksson (if he comes over) and Edström (if he signs ELC - likely N.A. bound in 2022)

We are going to see Schneider get a full season in the AHL I suspect? Unless he's called up to the Rangers for whatever reason?

Looking forward to watching him and Barron this season. I gather could also see Jones and to a lesser extent Lunqvist at Hartford too. I see why people are excited. Developmental "hell" or not.

Henriksson has already stated he will play in Sweden this upcoming season. Based on the transfer agreement, he cannot come over unless his team (Frölunda) grants him permission.

Henriksson may have experience in the SHL and Allsvenskan but he hasn't really had success outside of the junior level. I'd rather see him enjoy some pro success at home before trying to jump over here. He's still young for a D+3 player, as he'll be 20 most of the season.

Yes, and there's a possibility he comes over after the SHL season is over. Frölunda's last reg season game is March 15th. The Wolf Pack has 18 games left after that date (although the March 16 game might come too early for him).

How Henriksson does in the regular season will determine whether or not Frölunda keeps him around for the SHL post-season.

That's an odd playoff format. Are the divisions unbalanced? Unlike the NHL, a lot of minor league teams lose money on the playoffs, so it's weird they would expand the teams and stretch out the calendar.

Yeah they're totally unbalanced. It's why last season you had teams like Hartford playing 24 games and teams out west playing like 50.

Frölunda and Henriksson’s preseason open with its first game on Tuesday, 10 August. He is one of the kids that I am most excited about following this season. Would love to see a real breakthrough.

interesting in retrospect additional hint re the Jacksonville affiliation,
aside format he Elmer loan to Jax,
Jeff Taylor spent virtually all last year w Pack (only played 6 AHL games tho) was a call-up-loan from Jax who'd been signed on an ECHL contract

btw, given Jax affiliation, we may see these guys at Pack training Camp
Charles Williams at eliteprospects.com (played 2 games in G for pack a couple years back
Abbott Girduckis at eliteprospects.com
Jacob Friend at eliteprospects.com
Ara Nazarian at eliteprospects.com
