Fedorov. Selke and 56 goals is unique, no one else ever had the same level of offensive and defensive excellence.

I'm very open to hearing Trottier's case but I'm inclined to take Fedorov here. 120 points and 50+ goals while winning the Selke is such an incredible accomplishment that I find it hard to pass him up; I'd say it's a tier 2/3 Hart trophy season all things considered. I'm aware that Trottier was also a great 2 way forward but I'm not sure about this season in particular since he didn't place very high in selke votes that season (not that that's the end all be all as I'd assume the trophy was defined a bit differently at the time; but since I wasn't around, I don't have much to go off). Either way, I figured these seasons were extremely close and would make for a good matchup so I'm looking forward to hearing more about Trottier's season

Fedorov but Trottier's season is no slouch. Fedorov didn't have Bossy on his line or a defenceman as good as peak Potvin to play with, and I don't see Trottier as being on Fedorov's level defensively even if it was a strength for him. That isn't to say that Fedorov had poor teammates obviously.

Too late for this one but Trottier. Did everything Fedorov did plus physically punished people too.
