I think they could ref properly if they wanted to. They just look like they have a vested interest and afraid of disobeying what they're being asked to do by certain elements. They're the symptom, not the cause. Happens almost every time we play an American team. I think they're reffing like their careers are on the line and not in a good way. Same thing likely happens in the KHL.

I forget which Podcast it was but it's hilarious that refs are "held accountable" by calls with the league in between periods and after the game and this is still the type of garbage they churn out day after day.

Being held accountable means there are repercussions and/or a continued approach to improving and tracking results. I'd love to know what their version of "accountable" would be.

Can the Leafs stop getting favoritism by the refs? All the calls that go in our favor, its really embarrassing how often ref's help the Leafs.

The refs aren't even trying to hide how corrupt they are. Vengeance is my sayeth the NHL ref... never question a shitty call if you are a Leaf player or coach cause them refs are gonna dish out old school cronyism.
