Went to Cape Cod for year #2 at New Years which was a good choice. Much better than sitting home in VT and watching the snow melt.

Highlights included:

First Night Chatham with a road race at the Squire
Long walk on the beach in Wellfeet
Polar Plunge in Yarmouth New Years day
Ikea visit to get some Gravlax (cured salmon) and misc. items for the house. Also got some Salmon and meatballs at the cafeteria.
Jordans visit to look at the Village and get some muffins
Grilling outside in the dark and 50 degrees.

Might as well lean into climate change. I don't think @TD Charlie knows what winter is anymore.

Probably cheaper to fly her out to your place and have her hole up in Florida for a fresh start!

No lie, I was browsing pics and videos of various winter activities from my Google archives today. I am dying to get back into ski boots, and also already excited for the feeling of taking off the aforementioned boots

f***ing crazy my daughter is now back in the apartment with that boy

I hate being a parent sometimes watching my kids make mistakes

She better tell her lil bf he owe me $140 😂😂😂
Being a parent is always watching your children make mistakes. You can support them and talk to them how to be better or come in here and complain about it. I hope you do the former.

Anyone else have a samsung TV that overall is great but came with the worst remote known to man...?
I have two of them. Yup, horrible remote design. If you have cable you should be able to put the Samsung remote in a drawer and never look at it again though.

But without cable, good luck. The UI on the TV is dreadful too. App store and Samsung accounts are always fubar too

We pulled this out from under the stairs today, a time capsule we made on January 1st, 2020. We decided we would open it in 25 years, which seemed like forever, but here we are. We are waiting until Sunday when we will all be together. My daughters were 7 and 9 years old. We can't remember what is in it. They want to do it again....ummm.....maybe but hubby would be 95 and I would be 89....they weren't impressed when I said we may not be around. 🤣

This is my grandmother in 1937. A friend colourized it for me, it brought so much life to the picture. It is interesting that she is only wearing one glove - I looked it up and women were expected to wear gloves in those days. I think she was making a point by leaving one hand bare.

Between running normal Saturday errands, storing my Christmas decor at mom’s and watching my niece for an hour, I am ready for a nap.

Also, bring on the arctic cold. I am ready for it.

We're supposed to get a small amount of ice here tomorrow morning although it will melt early afternoon and rain the rest of the day.

Good day to stay inside on the couch with comfy blankets and hot chocolate.

So, with the rising cost of the cable, we finally did it. With the way the Bruins have been playing (Not Playing) we decided to get rid of cable and this saves us $85 a month. We went with Philo Tv, and I had to add NESN 360. With both of these we are paying $60 a month. Yesterday I added a new router to get more speed, but it takes longer to get it up and running than they tell you. I almost gave up on it but after an hour and a half it is working, FINALLY!!!
There was an issue I noticed towards the end of last night's game. The play was ahead of the announcer. So, when someone scored you saw it but heard the announcer say score 7 seconds later. Anyone else experience this???

The wind is howling right now. No precip is expected in the OKC Metro thankfully. It stayed up north along the Kansas border and towards the panhandle. Just bitter cold until Wednesday. If I lose power, I will be staying at Chateau Mom as she has a generator.

I’ve got a full tank of gas, fully charged electronics and my faucets are dripping and the cabinet doors under the sinks are open. Just waiting for Sam’s Club to open to pick up my order and then I’m coming back and staying cozy for the rest of the day.
