I've never really seen the point to celebrating it. Just flipping another page on the calendar. :dunno:

Instead I'll be home trying to keep the dog from going nuts with all the fireworks. Some loony tune has been setting them off the last couple nights here already.
Indeed, simply an added day. But there is a ritual, and rituals are important to humans. I like keeping it simple, quiet and take time with my love ones.

Agree. I read last year where some people who went to Times Square actually wore diapers because of the bathroom situation or rather lack thereof. How on earth is that fun??? Eeewww
Oh boy.... must smell flowers !!!!!
I'll wait life forces me to wear diapers....

Can't say I'm sorry to see 2024 go away

Our house build is delayed
My uncle Charlie died
My wife's father died
We lost our beloved Bernese mountain dog Piper
My brothers dog died
Found out my knee is worse, total replacement in March coming up

Looking forward to a much better 2025
Sorry for all.

Sending the good thought.

Keep truckin',

✌️❄️

I had ups and downs in 2024. Downs mostly health related, which of course always seem big.

On the bright side, I got out of apartment living, and someone gave me a dog.

However, thinking about 2025 still has me looking like this:

Here's to a better 2025, seems like I have been saying that a lot since 2020 but hopefully this year is better for all. So Happy New Year, hopefully it gets better from here.
You old curmudgeon, you.

We think alike when it comes to the Boston Bruins.

I knew there was a heart underneath all that bitching about the B's,

✌️❄️

PS I bitch too. Plenty.

Doubtless you are aware, and I don't mean to add to your troubles, but please prepare for challenging rehab per new knee.

I haven't had it, but my sister Julie, 69 and a lifelong athlete, has.

(Sports hernia: "I don't do surgery."

(She learned otherwise.)

My understanding is that it can be slow going, and will take a bit of time.

Good luck & keep all apprised.

I had the left one done last Dec
This is the right

I think it's funny how before you have it done, people will tell you 6-12 months before it is pretty normal.

Once you have it done people say it can take up to 3 years.

I can say it feels better after 6 months, but you know strength and mobility is off.

After 10 months I told my wife I don't feel like I will be able to play tennis again. After 12 months, now I think I can. And now this one ...

I'm thinking I can play tennis again 2026. In the meantime, kayaking and bass fishing when we finally move

I used to believe this but no longer do

Kind of difficult to say Happy New Year when there has already been a terrorist attack.

Understood. Believe me.

However,

You possess volition.

There is *always* a choice.

*Always.*

Without getting silly about it, I can hold the door for you (Visit TD Garden. and I will, literally!)

I can say hello. I can acknowledge your presence as a human being.

Please understand I would never say do thus & so.

*It's your life.*

This or that is for you to do. Or not.

The good thought goes with you regardless,
