The fires are mainly up where the rich people live. I'm safely an hour or so south of that. Depending on which direction the wind blows, I might get a coating of soot on my car and backyard though. To our Cali posters, please stay safe!!!
Irony is that the Calgary Flames are in Los Angeles and their game has been postponedhoping the flames engulf me so i can stop watching the bruins
Hopefully the winds calm down soon. The people I have heard from are all saying the same thing about the wind. It is so hard to watch.Palisades fire is feasting from the winds today, shot up to 12k acres burned. Unfortunately they wont be able to get any real containment until the winds die down and planes can get in the air
My wife's best friend and the Godparents of our first child live in Altadena. She's a nurse and he teaches band at the local high school. Far from rich people. The fires are mainly up where the rich people live. I'm safely an hour or so south of that. I think we're past the "the fire is only burning rich peoples homes".
I'm seeing eldery folks stuck in houses. Nursing homes, etc.
It's horrifying.
And there's no water. 0% containment. When this is all said and done? It's not gonna be pretty. More deaths to come.
So sad.
Seriously, this - the flying f*** would wealth status even be brought up forRich or not, losing your home, sense of security, and personal belongings is terrifying.
Yes, some folks will have the resources to rebuild more easily than others, but seeing your home burn to wildfires hurts regardless of your tax bracket.
About time.Encouraging news is the winds dipped enough for water planes to start flying
I find the homesteading/prepper crowd on youtube to be fascinating. Not going to lie, if I could live on even an acre of land, I'd have a massive garden and greenhouse to grow my own fruits and veggies and learn how to can.
Easy way to keep a skunk from smelling.....hold it's nose....Woke up to a terrible skunk smell in the house. Apparently one is trapped under the house on my neighbor's side. She heard it crying and trying to get out. The smell is so bad, she said when she got to work her coworkers told her she smelled like skunk.
The landlord is on his way to figure something out. What a day.
That stuff puts me into a zoned out dazed feeling
Sounds like they are bringing in firefighters from all over CA to help
BooooooooooooooooEasy way to keep a skunk from smelling.....hold it's nose....
My really dear friend just moved back to Mass. from Altadena. Her old neighborhood is gone. She has fewer friends who still have a home than those who don’t.My wife's best friend and the Godparents of our first child live in Altadena. They're in a hotel right now, and the fire is on their street. Not looking good.
