That plane crash in South Korea was horrifying. No gear down, belly landing, slide off runway and crash into retaining wall, massive explosion. Somehow two people survived, although I can't imagine the injuries they must have.

Then a few hours later Air Canada has a plane with damaged landing gear, scraped a wing, started a fire. Minor injuries but a scary incident nonetheless.

Here I am, less than ten miles from BNA as the crow flies, listening to planes fly relatively low overhead on a regular basis. I'm used to it, we used to only live two miles from a navy base, but let's just say I think about things a lot more these days lol :help:

I think they made it mandatory..... but remember CO is what is in your house from appliances, not CO2

Sad. Could have easily prevented 4 deaths with a simple $50 meter. Even if it isn't mandatory people should just get them. This is about the 3rd story I've read this month like this

We have one on each floor. Our furnace and fireplace are gas, everything else is electric. I have heard how great gas stoves are for cooking but I have fear of them!

Packing up Christmas stuff and trying to consolidate since I'm tired of having what feels like 42 boxes and tubs of various sizes. This box, which once housed a very sweet high tech Christmas present  (in 1987 or thereabouts) had been repurposed to hold a bunch of different Christmas decorations. No more. So long, 1987 lol

Being a news junkie I've been following that South Korea plane crash. Apparently the pilots received a warning that bird flocks were in the area but they apparently couldn't avoid flying through one which damaged the aircraft so it couldn't drop its landing gear or control its speed .

(yes, birds can bring down a large airplane this isn't the first time this has happened)

No matter what caused the gear to fail, the worst part is them crashing into the antennae at the end of the runway that were for some reason built like a concrete bunker. They're supposed to be built to break away, not cause a jet to explode on impact. Maybe if that was the case here, there would have been more survivors.

This guy has a good video on it
