The only worry with opossums hanging around the food and water is that they can carry leptospirosis. My parents dog died from this, she was healthy and her organs shut down so fast. It was traumatic to see. The vets figured it was picked up off the grass from a raccoon or opossum.

Edit to add: she was vaccinated for it but it isn't 100% effective.

I got these two beautiful shirts for Christmas and my daughter knitted me the fingerless gloves - the journal is handmade in India and the family even made the paper inside. What I write in it will be very powerful.

Anyone ever done the cruise to Alaska out of Seattle or Vancouver?

Been giving some thought to booking for this summer. Appreciate any comments from those who have .
No but I’ve been working myself up to do it for a year or so. I don’t travel, but that is something i could see myself enjoying.

We are cruising out of San Juan in a few months. If that goes well I will likely get more serious about checking the Alaska itineraries.

I’ll be following to see if you get any replies!

I did from Anchorage (Seward) to Vancouver. Went on a 3-day trip (pre-cruise) to Danali before the cruise. The cruise was 7 days.

We were on the Summit from Celebrity. I highly recommend it. It is a great cruise line. Be sure and get a balcony.

I have been on 4 cruises and the Alaska was the best.

My Mom was 79. It was June of 2004.

My daughter is planning a trip in July 2026 on the same ship (It has been redone).

I can ask my sister when I see her later. She and my bro in law did it for their honeymoon. I know they flew into Seattle and did a day or two there and did a day in Vancouver and I believe driving back to Seattle to come home. They loved it so much they named their dog Juneau.

Thanks. Yeah I figure we’ll tack a day or two on the front and back end. Just to have less travel stress and check out the sites.

My father in laws tv in the living room died and we got him a new one, also got him a new small one for his kitchen. I had suggested to my husband that we should drop it by his house once we picked them up because I didn’t think the big one would fit into his trunk. Husband assured me it would.

Men, take notes

I'm not a fan of giant ships and cruising with 1,000s of people. Did 10yrs of that in the Navy.

HOWEVER, my wife booked an adventure cruise for our 25th Anniversary a few years back with a company called UnCruise. I loved it. We flew in and out of Juneau. Small ship (held about 40 or so passengers total), and we went to places the big ships cant go. Lots of Kayaking, Hiking, Skiff rides, and I even scuba dived in 40 degree water. It was a one of a kind trip. Great food, open bar and I got to meet and have a meal with every other passenger on the trip. Met some really great people. Cant recommend it enough. Not cheap, but you should definitely check out their web site.

Since then, we've done a cruise with them around Hawaii, and the Sea of Cortez as well. Gonna do a different Alaska one for our next cruise with them. Here's a map of where we went......My wife is a photographer and her wildlife pictures from those trips are amazing.

Went with the gal and her three boys (18, 19, 22) to a 'resort' in Northern Ontario.

Fell hard three times ice skating and rolled my ankle bad playing ping pong.

They haven't stopped making fun of me since and rightfully so. I shit talked them that they were all going to get run over by the Ukraine Train.

What a time to be alive.
Thankful for spiced Rum and Diet Coke.

We had our second year of hiding the Christmas Pickle on the tree and it took the "kids" (all in their 30s), 15 minutes to find this year. I was so pleased with myself! Next year will be a bigger challenge.

Think ill try and make these

as long as they dont have too much breading and are crispy. I love chinese chicken fingers. I always get the spicy mustard sauce tho.

Chicken tempora I like even more. I usually get that when I go to this local place Kyoto.
