As others have mentioned... The B's can only really look at this deal if they get some reasonable level of confidence that Lindholm will resign.
As for the comparisons to Stone, it's worth noting that he signed on March 8th, roughly 10 days after being traded to Vegas.... it doesn't really seem like that was a "sign & trade" type deal, but more "I'm not signing in Ottawa" type of deal.
Agents will of course say "he wants to test the market". Sometimes that is face value. Sometimes it's a way of saying he just doesn't really want to be there. Others, just posturing to try and get the best deal.
Obviously, we don't know what Lindholm's true intentions are, but my understanding is that most players don't actually want to "test the market" -- they're happy to go somewhere they feel valued, are paid appropriately, and have a shot at a cup.
If you're the Boston Bruins, I think you've gotta take a really, really aggressive approach with Lindholm. He'd be a great fit on their D alongside McAvoy, Carlo, and Gryz; and hold the "veteran respect" of Bergy & Marchand as leaders.
