Nylander and Tavares couldn’t carry forever. I don’t know what Treliving’s vision was for the bottom 6 but you can’t have an offensive black hole in Kampf along with defensive liabilities in Reaves and Domi. Combine that with the decent but still raw Knies and Holmberg and it’s a disaster. Either go full board with an offensive third line which means removing Kampf from that slot or make a dedicated shutdown/matchup line with Kampf, Jarnkrok, and Mr. Selke nominee in Marner.

Agreed, its tough when the fanbase (HF posters) have so much more pride and passion in being associated with the Toronto Maple Leafs than the players do.

Does the feeling of putting on the jersey vanish so quickly for players? I've been all over Marner for a few years now because he simply isn't good enough for his constant demands. He grew up a Leafs fan in the GTA, why does it look like (so far this season) that he is cares as much as playing for a semi-pro team in Ireland?
