Which tells all of us Robertson , when it matters, did not make an impression on the guy who signs the game roster card ... when given the opportunity , you have to kick the f-ing door down... and never leave, you have to make the most out of the minutes you get.
Or we could start asking ourselves why management will give significantly more leash to veterans even if they are playing terribly over younger players with upside. Robertson is one of the Leafs 12 best forwards by any metric and just like some other young players we have had in recent years we have never given them much of a chance to succeed.

If they want to trade Liljegren, they need to let him play a couple of games so that he can have a chance to show his potential. No one is going to want to touch him if he supposedly cant even earn a roster spot over Benoit & Timmins who hasn't exactly been great.
It’s getting to the point of being ridiculous. If Treliving and Berube weren’t convinced of him even being a good bottom pairing defenseman (an opinion I find ridiculous and indefensible) then he should have been traded before being re-signed or immediately afterwards. There is no benefit to him sitting 10 of the first 11 games for any party involved, especially when our bottom pairing has been shaky at times.

Re: Liljegren

Frank Servalli (JD Bunkis Podcast today):

"I was told that a few teams had inquired and asked, understanding that he’s available, ‘Hey, what’s the price gonna be? What does this look like?'” he said. “It seems like there’s been enough interest, at least to this point, that they can end up moving the player without much consequence.”

I used to think Robertson had a lot of potential. Pacioretty contributing no matter who he's with or how much TOI he get's is making me second guess that.

In the case of Liljegren, I think he should be playing much more. Leafs need to show his value, whether that's positive or negative. If he plays well, he'll have value in a trade. If he plays poorly, he could likely be waived and unclaimed.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if waived and unclaimed, I believe his salary doesn't count against the cap hit.
