This is not a silly take though. Hutson is 2nd in PPG among rookies and 8th in PPG among all NHL D-men, as a 20 y/o rookie

He has a 0.83 PPG while Celebrini has a 0.89 PPG. I voted Celebrini but this is extremely close.

I mean, he’s right. Hutson is the clear front-runner. 10 fewer games hurt Celebrini. He’d be the one in front if he had played 45 games.

Hutson is currently on pace to break the all time assist record for a rookie defenceman with 62, Larry Murphy has the record with 60. We're not there yet but if he does it I think he win.
