I still haven't finished Ep1 and didn't even start Ep2. Doesn't stop me from redownloading them both on Steam every time I get a new PC or reinstall Windows though. One of these days...

Nah they've never missed the boat. I remember being so mad when steam took over TFC & CS, turned out Gabe saw the future and protected us from the worst. HL2 is still a legit game. Give me more.

Not being a PC gamer growing up i never played the first two. I heard Orange Box wasn't very good on consoles so I didn't bother, so I remaster of those would be great (as would a remaster of the first Deus Ex, since it seems they're done making new ones now)

The key to this release will not just be the game but the PvP games released at launch and a SDK (software development kit) as well. This SDK birthed TFC, CS, Garry’s Mod and more. SDK’s ar what keep the games playable long after launch

would be nice if they re-released the Orange Box on current gen consoles to get a refresher

You can play the Orange Box on the Xbox Series consoles at 4K/60fps with HDR. You just need the Xbox 360 disk, which is dirt cheap these days.

Ahh, I traded mine in years ago, I'll have to see if I can find a copy, I guess it's better than nothing, but a remaster would have been nice

I agree, if only for a boost to the console population numbers for Team Fortress 2.

I wonder if that will tie in to the Deadlock full release. Or at least open Beta. That's still just in closed Alpha (though I have 1000+ hours already....)

Doesn't it take like about 15 years to make each Half-Life game? That's more of the reason why I never got interested or played them. There is delaying stuff to make it amazing and then there is Half-Life level of insanity.

Huh? What gave you that idea? Half Life had a fairly regular release schedule. With a bunch of side games in between there was HL1, HL2, and then built of the same HL2 engine you got HL2 episode 1 and HL2 episode 2, which ended on something of a cliff hanger... and then for reasons no one knows they just stopped. Doing a check HL1 came out in 1998 And HL2e2 in 2007.

Valve wasn't short on talent or ability. And certainly not short on money as I don't recall the exact timeline but the new Steam platform was becoming a huge success. Everyone just assumed they would make HL2e3 to complete the HL2 story/series, not to be a ground breaking new release like HL1 and HL2 were. That's why it became something of a meme.

And I'm not a FPS guy, about the only series I like and actively look forward to that might fall into that category is Metroid Prime, but I finally got around to playing the Half Life games about 10 years ago and yes they're really good. I wouldn't have the interest to play through something like Halo or Call of Duty but I easily got into and completed the Half Life games.
