Another turnover at our blueline!

We break the puck out like my Thursday night skates at Centene

We won the cup with....
1) great goaltending
2) great D with size
3) physical team play

This team has none of the above
1) Binny needs to be better but I still believe he has it in him to become clutch again assuming we make the playoffs
2) Colt and JayBo have been missed more than anyone!
3) To the Blues defense, the cup winning team‘s players that are still on the team were not naturally physical players. I kept thinking that our biggest weakness going into the 2019 playoffs was our lack of physicality.
Then we drew the Jets and I thought we were screwed. Props to the Blues coaching staff (Ott/Berube) by bringing players out of their comfort zone.

Some might laugh but fans in the building is very important for a team like the Blues in the playoffs. It’s hard to play your grinding game when it’s silent after ever hit.
I also feel like Binny is a player that feeds off the pressure of a packed building. He’s said he enjoys the road crowds many times

Just got home and saw 1st period highlights. Boys need to protect the front of the net better. Can not let the Avs keep getting inside position in the crease. This has been a major issue all year and other teams know it. All year long teams have been putting pucks to the net front with great success.

Binnington didn't challenge enough. But I thought MacKinnon had a very easy walk to the net on it so I put the blame at 50/50
That's twice now Colorado has dumped the puck low and that guy has scooted to the front of the net before we can respond. Binnington would have had to be quick with the poke check, but if he misses it MacKinnon has a WIDE OPEN net to flip the puck into. IMO it's a low-probability, high-risk move.

Bottom line, our PK is just terrible right now.

the 2 players from that team that WERE physical were Barby and Sunny, and I don't think they've been on the ice at the time in over a month

Refs 2 Blues 1
Colorado hasn't really shown up yet.
It’s a broken record at this point but those calls were embarrassingly bad. Clifford’s barley touch his stick and it broke and of course Krug gets elbowed in the face

there was nothing bad or wrong about the call on Clifford. that's an easy call to make

the Krug call is a missed call.. but its not like the refs are hosing the blues.. they got a pp or 2 as well

True and boxing out players from the net front has been a huge issue all year. I can't count the number of times a player has walked in unchallenged or just been standing wide open around the net for easy goals.
