ahhh , more isles fans wanting to ship out halak .

I think isles brass allowed staple to beat up halak so that he'd pull up his socks with his work habits/attitude .

hopefully he comes into camp ready to keep snow's lap dog berube in the pressbox wasting 7oo K of ledecky/malkins $

If you ice that line combo then you have 3 wingers in Yakupov, Puljujarvi and Pouliot without a capable centre.

I offer 1 Tyler Bozak.

more like Fayne.

Pouliot is locked in for #2LW in EDM now that Hall is gone.

If you trade Fayne you're back to having a single right handed shot on D. Which is not ideal.

At least if you trade Pouliot for Bozak, the money is almost the same, Bozak can play almost anywhere up and down the lineup and he adds a right handed shot to the forward group.

You could always move Draisaitl over to 2LW after Pouliot leaves.

Fayne should not be playing in NHL just because of his handedness.
Might as well sign Schultz back.. he is RD isnt he.. probably more effective than Fayne as well which isnt saying much.. If Oilers can offload Fayne's contract I wouldnt care what the return would be..

Halak needs to prove he can stay healthy before anyone banks on him being a #1.

Edmonton easily passes on this due to lack of fitting needs, but the value is close as I feel like De Haan could be the best piece of that offer. Issue is Edmonton has a lot of defensive bodies right now.

The ship has sailed on a Oilers/Islanders trade when Hall went to new Jersey so we should stop kicking that empty can Please!!!!

Snow will see how Halak Holds up in The World Cup Play and see if possible trade partners surface.

might take longer than just the world cup because I'd think team euro would go with freddy andersen over halak or greiss

Not saying Talbot not a good goalie but when you put an experienced goalie on a younger team it makes a huge difference as far as team confidence is concerned. Oilers cannot afford only a "decent second half" again. Halak would also pave the way for Talbot eventually. Most successful teams have a solid two goalie tandem anyway.

He had a slow start because he went from the Rangers (fantastic defence) to Edmonton with a defence of Fayne, Davidson, Nurse, Schultz, Nikitin, Sekera and Oesterle......... Do you understand what it would be like for a goalie with that defence a head of him? Do you understand that that is one of the worst defences ever in the NHL? Yet he still managed a .920 sv% or whatever on a terrible team.

Talbot was excellent last season and will only be better with Larsson joining the team and Klefbom not on IR. He's better and younger than Halak.

Oilers pass.

Rather have Talbot as our #1.
Plus, Halak is an injury prone small goalie.

TBo had a stretch of about 10-13 games where he wasn't very good. He worked himself out of it and was fantastic all season long.

We all know Edmonton still doesn't have a a real #1. Isles have 3 goalies and have their own problems.

Oilers receive: Jaro Halak/Calvin Dehaan/Kulimin/Dal Colle

Islanders receive: Jordan Eberle/Pat Maroon/Mark Fayne

This is a trade both sides can truly benefit from. I know some Oiler fans will say that don't need another lefty D but DeHaan is worth it.

There are 7.5 to 13.5 shots in the HSCA
HSCA is were shots go in 8.5% (.915 save%) to 20% (.8000 save%)of the time.
8.5% being league average.

You want one of the top 8-10 HSCA save% goalies over the last 3 years.
#1 Price
#2 Holtby
#3 Schnieder
#4 Lundquist
#5 Talbot
#8 Griess
Halak would not be on the top 10 list.

With Klefbom top 60 HSCA D 10.12 Shots missing 52gm
and
Davidson #35 HSCAD 9.68 HSCA shots missing 31

Talbot had 2 bottom 60 HSCAD
Sekera/fayne 12.15 HSCA shots per 60
and
4 of the bottom 20 13.00+ hsca Shots.

he faced 30.7 shots/gm of which 13 were HSCA
42.3% above league average shooting % shots
17.7 low scoring
13. high scoring
yet ended up with a .917 save%

Goalies From anahiem faced 7.5 to 8.0 HSCA shots a game.

Gibson .920 save%
25.9 SHost/gm
18.4 Low scotring
7.50 High scoring.

Andersson .919 save%
28.3 shots/gm
20.3 Low scoring shots.
8.0 High scoring shots

Toronto had 4 of the 30 worst HSCA D
but they moved Phanuef.
Toronto's goalies faced 12.30+ HSCA /60

Bernier .908 Save%
31.1 shots/60
18.8 Lowscoring shots
12.30 High scoring shots.
Andersson is going to face 35% more 8.5 to 20% success rate shots.

What is scary is Anahiem likely got the better goalie.

If I am Las vegas:
I am grabing 2 likely top 8 HSCA save% goalies.
1 in expansion and 1 in UFA.

Greiss
and
Murray

Why won't this die? No Halak. Not needed. Not wanted. Might take him as a toss in on a Hamonic for Eberle deal. ;)

Hamonic is a bottom 20 HSCA D.
which cancels out the GA results of
Larsson the best SA/GA d in the game the last 2 years.

Taking over from
Weber/ Hjarlmasson/ Doughty!

Hamonic?

PC said there were maybe 15-16 #1 D in the game.

1st comp Top 50 HGA D:
Larsson upper 1st comp #1 GA D 1.52/60
A. Greene 1st comp #3 GA d 1.60
Brodin bottom 1st comp #5 GA D 1.68
Hjarlmasson 1st comp #8 GA D 1.71
Niskanen 1st comp #10 GA D 1.74
manson 1st comp #11 GA D 1.75

Hedman 1st comp #47 GA D 2.00

Cause I do!

Larsson #1 GA D 1.52
Davidson 2nd comp #23 GA D

No. No I do not. Especially considering how many top tier defensemen aren't included near the top of this particular "stat". Advanced stats are supplemental information, you use them incorrectly.

You would think for how much he bends advanced stats to support that the oilers are good, they would actually be good?
