Matheson skates like a Rolls-Royce, effortlessly smooth and bloody quick. Anderson skates like a 20th century Lambo, all shouty unpredictable power and bloody quick. Heineman skates like Noble, rough round the edges and assembled on a dodgy industrial estate in Leicestershire but also powerfully quick and underrated.

Our top line forwards, though - yeah, not so much.

I doubt anyone knows where Leicestershire is but points for originality. Sounds like one of those villages the Alliance passed through in Lord of the Rings.

Yeah, Primeau needs to be upgraded on. Let's also hope the recent signs of Dach's skating coming back are positive. He had some good shifts for once tonight.

Dobes needs playing time but Primeau just can't cut it. How about Conor Hughes? The Rocket backup. He's playing as well as Dobes but doesn't need to be played regularly.

He's an excellent player. Exactly the type of middle 6 player the team has always lacked. Just a simple north-south, physical game, but with very good IQ without the puck (both offensively and defensively). Having him and Anderson on two different lines must be very annoying for the opposing defense.

A sh*t disturber would say we had one in Lehkonen.

if we really want to win we have to win a partner for Hutson. Will never work with Matheson or Savard.

And cut back on his ice time.

Yeah pretty weird take. I think the only player on their roster they drafted outside the top 5 is Knies.

Their last 3 earliest picks are all relatively late and they found useful big guys.

The habs have some good players but they haven’t done so well with drafting big players. Slaf was 1OA, Xhekaj was signed. Lots of good smaller guys.

The Leafs biggest issue is they didn't hit on anything after their top picks and spent most of their prospect and draft currency trying to build depth every year.

Knies was a good hit. He's the only one playing on the team.

Minten looks OK and Cowan isn't big.

UK equivalent to Manitoba. Somewhere you drive through to get to someplace else, not much going on apart from one major population centre, lots of farming and dull as f***. Nobles are amazing cars, though

We all know back to backs is this team kryptonite, but I think they're going on a lil streak. GHG!

This season their kryptonite is 2 days break actually. They now have 2 wins in I believe 9 games...and the 2 wins are the last two.

The habs are the 7th heaviest team in the league this year. Average height is 6’1 like half the league.

Size isn’t an issue for this team.

im not a fan of two undersized defensmen for a playoff run, but we’re a ways away from there.

On offense, only cole and gally are undersized, and gally doesnt have a key role anymore.

Regarding prospects? Hage is big, Reinbacher is big, Mailloux is big, engstrom is rangey, beck is average but physical, Demidov and Roy are average and skilled. Demidov has a big frame, likely will be over 200lbs.

Our only undersized prospects are Mesar and Farrell… both being assets we can leverage.

i wonder if that's a misleading stat... imo one of the team's flaws is how slow they are. there is not a single speedster on the roster.

The reason why you think they are slow is because most of the players start from a stationary position instead of always moving around which result in opposite players with momentum easily catching up to them before they reach their top speed.

It's been annoying me since the season started. Most players, especially forwards, are just waiting in a spot for the puck. It's not fluid and lack synchronism.

Even though nothing came out of it, I think the 2nd line had a decent game? Got a few long shifts in the offensive zone and even a couple of chances.

The 2nd line started badly by getting aimed in their own zone, but things got much better afterward.

Larkin is 30 so he pretty much is what he is. Seider looked great tonight but yeah, they miss high end talent other than Seider and Raymond.

Lesson to be learned, they wanted a winning culture too quickly and didn't draft high enough for long enough. Now they're stuck in no man's land.

I don’t trust the habs scouting to find late gems at this point. Look at the Leafs picking late and still getting good, big players. Watch Montreal not do that. If the habs don’t upgrade their scouting they need another top five pick or two.

Hage, Beck, Fowler and Hutson are all doing great and were later picks.

How can you judge later picks this way and yet our first rebuild draft was 30 months ago? Late picks are ALL projects and projects take time, but as projects, they're all doing great at this point. Except Mesar, but who cares. Can't all be hits.

That's all well and good, but that 2nd line needs to start doing something other than "improving skating" or "having a nice shift." Dach was 14.3% at the dot. That's horrible.

There’s a lesson here for Hugo; if Colorado offers you one of their 1st round pick prospects in a trade, just say no. Take picks instead and move on.

Laine is finding his stride. His effort without the puck was noticeable last night.

Evans played very well and should have scored 2, worth keeping at the right price.

Gorton/Hughes improved the team significantly with the carrier trade. There was little to no drama when he was out there.

Dach showed a few times that he wanted to be better.

Heineman continues to be sneaky good and 20 goals wouldn't shock me.

Hutson continues to play like a dog with zoomies, we have a star in the making.

My man Arber is here to stay, Struble might be the next one headed out of town.

All in all, a very good effort, they looked more like a team at least for one night.

I think it was a good game 5on5 for Dach and Newhook.

Dach looked more involved around the boards and the net.
Newhook could be a good option as the 3rd line center in the future.
