Post-Game Talk: Habs win big at the Bell Center, get back in series. Series 2-1 Washington.

Some people here are happy to pounce on Xhekaj for that one mistake he made on a zone exit but will never agree to the fact he was actually good the rest of the game, he did the basic stuff of cleaning up the crease and punishing within boundaries those who tried to get close to our goalies.
I sincerely think that most people that are bashing his play, have never been part of a hockey team.
The« it » thing, or the ‘X’ factor does exist in a hockey locker room; having ‘the guy’ on your side has a very high impact on the mentality of the whole group. Sadly, it’s quite evident some people here never had a chance to experience it, and therefore do not understand it.
Coincidently, none of our players receiver cross checks to the face during the game.
Even Matheson and Dvorak played with a mean edge last night…..that says a lot.
I think that most people here like myself that promoted Xhekaj as winning us the game are just toying and trolling the Debby Downers on this board.
I like our team’s wolf pack mentality.
This post season is gravy, let’s enjoy watching the youngest team ever gain playoff eperience .

I'm a fan of Patrik's. But any time fans talk about the atmosphere of a North American hockey building, it's almost like he gets offended and wants to talk about the European crowds.

We know those fans are amazing. But can you just let people enjoy what a Bell Centre or a T-Mobile Arena brings for energy? It's almost like an inferiority complex he has.

Not to mention, European players have played in both Europe and Montreal, and they always say they've never experienced anything like the Bell Centre. Both Habs players and opponents.

So let it rest man.

Fix you is awesome. I will stand by it until I am in my grave

The best thing about this win is that we didn’t get lucky they weren’t goalied we had the most and best chances and had the edge for most of the game, their physical play isn’t slowing us down.

We've been more dominant in our barn then they've been in theirs. Stay dominant at home and all we need is to take one of four games in Washington.

Adding to this, Thompson looks to be out for the rest of the series and I much prefer either Monty or Dobes over Lindgren.

I still can't believe that game was real last night

That new PP formation just sealed Laines fate with us unfortunately

And I hate to make it sound like this lol but for those who thought Xhekaj couldn't help us in a playoff series like this.. come on guys lol
Even tho he DID lead to a goal against lol
You can still pull off the win with the energy he brought to the club

Anderson. I love you dude. You ain't going nowhere for these 2 years left

Can't get over this picture lol , Demi's face god

lol it's incredible how we play at home and we have three quarters of the lineup have incredible games yet people still credit Xhekaj for 100% of the win. Get

What a teammate Monty is. Guy is playing the best hockey of his career, gets injured. And the first thing he does is congratulate Dobes with a big smile on his face because he's happy for the kid.
Added to the fact that according to Marc Denis , Monty deliberately played through the injury after advising Dobes so he could have time to warmup. Wow

I feel we were truly dominant all game at home. Washington never was in theirs. There’s A LOT. Of dog in this team. I love it!

And to think all these kids are still a few years away from their prime is incredible.

Agreed. His spot when all is said and done will be 3rd line wing with a lot of PK and checking duties. He has an insane motor and a lot to handle when he’s on you. Just doesn’t have the vision and hands for center
So Hughes and his crew cannot tell a winger from center? That's two "big" acquisitions now... Dach and Newhook.

Andy has cemented himself as part of the vet core.

Shoutout to an unsung hero : Dvorak (he's quietly having a solid year).
Sigh
I can't believe this but

Do we re-sign this guy for 2 years..?
Lol
On a dead last team, he's useless
On a team on the rise.. he's valuable

Armia has had some pretty solid games these passed couple, he seems different in the playoffs (hell that's HOW he got this contract ffs lol)

Also, I'm gutted for Montembeault
But I WILL say I LOVE the unselfishness of taking yourself out

Last thing you want is something like that fcking moron Ben Bishop trying to play through a torn groin or wtv , completely putting his team in danger AND Chicago blasted him for 3 goals or wtv before he finally 'took himself out'
Basically blew the series for them
So selfish

Good on you Sammy, hope it's not too bad
