Thanks guys. I lost my Mom in September. So I've kinda been in a funk for the last couple of months. But I missed my Habs family. So I decided to come back. Sadly, you'll all see me much more in the new year. ;)

Damn, if they win 4. I may have to sacrifice a Leafs fan. While wearing their Leafs jersey. ;)

Same to you! :)
Sorry to hear, my condolences.

Also, good to have you back!

Sorry to hear. 22 for me, never hurts less but you get better at dealing with it. Met my wife not long after, just wish they could have had some overlap.
Also met my wife right around the time my mom landed in palliative care. Wish they could've met.

You were 22?... way too young. That sucks even more. So much time stolen away.

That's really tough, sorry to hear that. It's dumb but seeing my friends' wives get along with their moms (definitely not a universal experience lol) almost makes me feel bad for never giving her that opportunity.

Yeah, happened about a month before COVID (Feb 2020). Had been coming for a few years but still never quite feel like you're ready.

Interesting hockey starts in May 2025. :dunno:

I mean, we witnessed plenty of interesting hockey in the regular season back when we were flawed but competitive, thinks of MTL vs BOS back when we had Subban and they had Lucic, two engaged teams playing on a random February night absolutely unwilling to concede a inch to each other. That would be my loose definition of interesting in the context of "can we play them every week?" instead of watching a team just giving up after one period.

But hey, they made like 15 Fast and Furious movies, so I'm painfully aware that interesting is mostly subjective.

Happy Holidays people. I am finally coming off my 2 months of 14 hour days. The PC game I was looking to play during my 5 days off is broke, my wife had security called on her by this fly by night scam shoe place at the mall(NO returns WTF is that about?) My grandkids wrote all over my 60 inch hockey TV, oh and the walls, the couch the floor, the other kid painted the entire bathroom with blue from the toilet, and the third broke 2 ceramic snowmen... BUT at least the habs gave me something to be happy about despite missing the game.

Have a good one!
Always good to see you bro. Hope you are doing well. Happy holidays.

Stuff me......

A) Daddy
B) Santa
C) Laine
D) Mia Khalifa
Looking like Santa has heard your plea. He even has "Boot out déPrimeau" as the last item on his list. :sarcasm:

it has to be Monty.
Monty will have had some rest so wouldn’t be surprised.

'What a fn shot' Laine is shaking the rust fine. CC is more than a shooter but man he's small.
Begs a question that probably has crossed posters’ minds.

It’s not so much that Caufield is small (even if there are a lot of smallish players on the team). It’s that he’s principally a shooter, who is not multifaceted and it makes one wonder … what if Laine is able to stay healthy and be productive over the next two years.

Can Laine make Caufield expendable?

They are only roughly 3 years apart (Laine is 3 years and 4 months older) — Caufield is 23, Laine 26. Both right handed shooters but Laine now occupies the spot Caufield had on the PP.

Huge assumption is whether Laine can stay healthy.

… Evan is good at the hockey game 200ft player.
Cue Sakic or whoever is GMing the Avs these days — relentlessly calling Hughes in order to soften him up, like Sakic did when he pursued Lehky (17 consecutive phone call days). Hoping Hughes has learned his lesson. 💀

So, so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. 😢

She must have been an amazing woman based on how beloved and appreciated you are in here. A mother is one of very few people who typically loves unconditionally, so I feel your pain. May her memory be a blessing. 🙏

You have definitely been missed by your HF buddies, so a huge welcome back. Hopefully we can all offer a little levity and care, to help bring back the H10H we know and love. If you need anything, please feel free to reach out to any of us, whatever we can do, let us know. ✨✨✨

No, you need good players and depth if you want to compete.

Hey Sakuu11 you are averaging a little over a post / year, that is quite the feat!
Feel free to join the game day threads on this board, or any other for that matter, and discuss hockey with other fans. The more you read, write and watch in English, the more fluent you will become. This is a great place to practice your English, just stay away from a few posters who make little effort in writing properly @the @waitin425
LOL 😉

You do but no one is giving Caufield away for less than what he’s worth in that hypothetical. No major return, no deal. The idea could be to use him to land a premium player at a position of need.
I'm simply not fond of that idea, or prospective of trading away Caufield as if Laine suffices. Basing this on our ineffective 5v5 play all season long.
We'll have enough money to spend in salary, and TOI to share for both to remain happy and effective, just figure out the 2C position.
Demidov will replace Newhook and every player will be sitting tight, right where they should.

We don’t know if Laine can play a full schedule until he does, just like Monahan didn’t until he could. Under that premise, I can appreciate the value of a Caufield sniping in Laine’s spot, should he be out of the lineup for long stretches.

No, you need good players and depth if you want to compete.

Some people don't understand this.

If you want to compete:
  • It's not because we have Hutson that Matheson should be traded for futures.
  • It's not because we have Laine that Caufield lost value.
  • It's not because we had Caufield that we could not use Laine.
  • It's not because Beck clicks in Laval that Evans should be traded for a 2nd rounder.
  • It's not because we have Guhle that Reinbacher is unnecessary.
  • It's not because Demidov is coming that we should give up on Dach or Newhook.
If we are going to compete, we need 4 strong D and 9 talented forwards, PLUS decent depth options.

If we want to compete, we should not sell any of our stronger players for only futures.
