I like what Carrier does balancing our minutes at the back it's exactly what I thought would happen.
Matheson isn't at 24 minutes to begin with and if we can play with more discipline he'd be below 20 minutes.
As solid as Carrier looks (and he does look it), this is the biggest benefit to that whole trade.

It gives us another vet to use instead of Matheson in situations where Matheson should be nowhere near (aka anytime during the game where playing defense is critical).

Laine came back and took Caufield's shooting spot on the PP and now Cole can't score anymore it seems. He's still involved in the play and playing quite well though.
Cole’s new role is to move the puck around, look for the open space in the net and pass to Laine for the shot.

Same job as everyone else on PP1

Cole's already got his money, he doesn't give af who scores as long as we're winning.

You can see it on his face everytime PL rips one. He loves it more than we do.

Yup, and when Demigod arrives there will have to be 2 units getting a minute apiece. Everyone is getting the puck to Laine but Cole will be okay, he's earning 650 thousand dollars a month, he can roll around and cry in his money. My God what a life these guys have.

looks like booting Barron for a guy that can play hockey was a good move. Best we’ve looked on D for some time.
Should’ve made this move in the summer

Preds weren't looking to make that move in the summer. Ultimately you have to wait for a team who have what you want and is willing to take what you have.

No? As much people enjoy winning unopposed, playing the Wings/Sabres don't produce the most interesting hockey to watch.
I don't know about that. I'm seeing far more "connected" hockey than we've seen all season long.
It's not perfect but if we counted how many successful passes we executed tonight I'd be surprised if it isn't at or near the top.
You do realize we have to start somewhere no matter who we are playing.

Sure, but not what I am talking about.
