Audette, Scherbak, and McCarron are the forwards to watch.

Audette showed some Briere-like tendencies in game 1, and I want to see if he can build on that. As for Scherbak, the tools are aparent, but I'm hoping to see him show flashes of a smarter hockey player. As for McCarron, I feel like I know him well enough at this point but I suppose he can still surprise me.

If Jerabek plays well tonight with Petry, it won't be long before he gets a chance with Weber

Missed the first two games, haven't had the chance to see Drouin in a Hab jersey yet, will have to wait a bit longer. Sucks that Juulsen is out for 6 weeks with a fractured foot, haven't seen him either.

So Radulov made Chucky a scorer?

What about the year prior?

And with Radulov gone, nothing positive will ever happen again? To Chucky, or Danault or Gallagher?

That's a pretty dim and dark, as well as narrow view.

It's gotten ridiculous

The year prior? It was Pacioretty who was feeding him.

And no, that's not what I'm saying.

You're being contentious for the sake of it and really going off the deep end for every comment.

Does putting a sniper on Crosby's wing make him a better player? Yes.

What about Backstrom? Yes.

Does having a playmaker help snipers score more goals?

Why is it some gigantic condemnation to say that Galchenyuk would benefit from playing with a playmaker to which neither Danault or Gallagher are strong playmakers? Or that Danault and Gallagher would benefit from another player who played a hard nosed cycle game with them?

Chucky needs to stop playing hero with the puck. I'm hoping he starts trending in the right direction starting TONIGHT.

Would be nice but not absolutely critical. As long as he trends in the right direction at puck drop when the real season kicks in.

I'm hoping they give Chucky a shot at center again. Last year he was absolutely amazing pre-injury. Pump him up big time then trade him for a real 1C.

He played like a 1C last season until the injury. He was 23 in 24 and clearly has room for improvement with his positioning, defence, physical game and speed of play. At 23yo he can be much better and he's already an NHL centre in my book.

That centre you're talking about trading him for likely isn't for sale.

And if that centre was for sale in the past 5 seasons, would the Habs have been able to close a deal? I can't see them adding a quality centre other than through the draft and even that is not assured. Might as well see what Galchenyuk and Drouin can do.

Getting legitimate 1st line O or top 2 D, is an expensive proposition any time they're available, and those times are rare indeed.

I'm with you completely in giving both Galchenyuk and Drouin a serious opportunity to play centre. Let the one who plays better at the position stay there. The other will be a fine winger for us.

An apparently rejuvenated Plekanec will be 2C and Danault will be solid at 3C. It's not optimal, but it's acceptable to start the season like this, to me at least.

I'm with you on the proposition of Galchenyuk and Drouin but am far less confident about Plekanec. Remember how he was on fire 2 years ago, which coincided with the signing of his current contract? He hasn't been the same since. We've seen this movie before and it makes it even more risky to try and extrapolate anything from early pre-season games. If Plekanec is off to a great regular season start, may be a good time to get some bites. Although at his salary, he'd be more easily moved at the TDL.

I'm not really that high on Plekanec, it's more of a realization that Julien will likely play him hard until he cracks and withers. I'm hoping for a resurgence but hardly expecting one.

A healthy mix of NHL and AHL talent.

Guy's I'm watching aside from the Galchenyuk-Danault-Gallagher line:

- Carr
- Waked
- Audette
- Scherbak
- DLR
- McCarron
- Jerabek
- Morrow
- Lernout
- Gelinas

I'm expecting cuts after tonight or tomorrow morning.

I've never liked Galchenyuk on the wing. Ever.

I find he plays even lazier and works himself into a corner and loses the puck. There's a reason why he's so much more productive at Center...

Yep. Although one could make a case for RW. The best we've seen him was at center.
