Good game. Good coverage from Amazon. They delivered.

Oilers are fun to watch. Love the movement in the offensive zone. The Habs weathered the storm.
It was more a question of the Oilers missing on their gilt edged scoring chances than us stopping them. Regardless, we did, as you so aptly described: weather the storm.

It's curious how both Dvorak and Evans picked up their games when they no longer found themselves on the 4th line.
Go back to the first year Monahan played with us Evans was terrible until he got bumped.
Coincidence I think not.
They aren't 4th line players (bring energy/hits/hard to play against even if they aren't scoring), especially Dvorak.

Evans always looked better with talented players, but he has zero offensive flair.

No one cares
It was a great win for the young Habs. I watched two periods, and I have to say it was defensively beautiful to watch. Everything that went wrong in past games didn't happen last night. Everyone was where they were supposed to be, and shutting down two of the top players in the world should give them the vote of confidence to continue playing the same style.

Oilers are the oldest and slowest team in the league?? Not sure if that's correct, but hey to each is own...............team effort did it, and Monty who has been as bad as Primeau, was very steady last night.

They have been pretty decent for the past 5 games.....winning 3 of them.
They need to go on a run of sorts, to get back in the mix.....for me, I am seeing improvements, and the GA which is a team stat, does rely on the goalies playing well when needed.

They are the oldest by average age, but I'd say the pens have a much bigger age problem. I look at the age of the core as much bigger indicator of an issue than the average age of the whole team.

The oilers top guys are not old other than ekholm who is still effective in his mid 30s.

Solid attention to detail the past couple of games. Compete level has been noticeable across the lineup. Shout out to Jake Evans, he works hard every shift & dependable.

It's great to see the vet line figuring it out. Frankly, it's as if MSL decided to put the 3 most hated Habs players and told them to figure it out.....and they kinda did. To a certain degree of course...based on the team we have. But all 3 of Anderson, Dvorak and Gally are playing their best hockey in quite a while.

The old trick, too much suckage cancels itself out.

I hope they won’t « celebrate » that game too long, BUT will copy it in terms of efforts for the rest of the season, win or lose.

Habs absolutely need great efforts and leadership from their older players.

Random question, but does anyone know specifically how Lucas Condotta is related to Matt Martin? Every site just says "he's a relative" or "they're related." What, are they 25th cousins twice removed or something?

I've been liking his game a lot more than I thought I would. As I said in the GDT, he reminds me of Weise. Versatile, physical, and has some offensive skills.

They may be aging as a group, but they are not slow as the poster mentioned....
