Nobody can hate on Matheson for his play in the last 2 games. He has been really good.

4th line was great and probably our best line tonight.

They are defending as a 5 man unit and in layers. First the offensive blue line, then the red line, then the defensive blue line. It's hard for the opponent to get anything going.

He's been solid. When he plays reliable defense and gets the physicality in there, he is a very effective player in the line-up.

That prolonged sequence when the Habs put a ton of pressure on the Coilers, were physical and resulted in a PP, was their best hockey this season for sure.

in the worst stretch of games we played, Marty said in an interview that he's having them work on team defense and that it will sacrifice a bit of offense to accomplish that... and since then you could see game by game that taking shape... and that team defense has been on full display the last couple games. it's great to see!

once they are settled into the new defensive system completely... will be able to pour the offense back on, I think.

...but for the love of God put hutson on PP1! my only complaint for tonight...

Lots of time for practice, a little mini camp, comes at a perfect time imo. Marty has alot to show to the boys now of what could be if they all buy in. This is the perfect game to emulate.

Proud of them tonight. Everyone pulled their weight.

He's playing better. You can see him gaining confidence every game. Playing the body instead of the puck, challenging the opposition at the blue line, joining the rush once in a while and just playing more physical in general.
