We can argue all we want about Therrien and "da system", but in the end, this management team and coaching staff has been getting results since they took over. Their record since 2012-2013 season is 121-62-20= 262 points. That is freaking impressive considering they had the 3rd worst record the year before.

In comparison, here are the records of some of the best teams in the league the last three season:

Anaheim: 130-52-21= 281 points
Chicago: 125-50-26= 276 points
Pittsburgh: 127-58-17= 271 points
St Louis: 126-61-15= 267 points
Boston: 118-57-27= 263 points
Montreal: 121-62-20= 262 points

Now I calculated quickly so there may be another team ahead of them, but I think this is pretty much it. Pretty damn impressive.

They instored a sense of pride we haven't seen in years. They brought back a culture that was lacking, one where players actually play for the logo and one another, instead of the name on the back. Even when they lose, they work. It's very refreshing. All the credit to Bergevin and his staff.

Yeah, he might want to stay here. Must be quite the change compared to Edmonton.

And anyways, in terms of on ice product, it was not really a huge turnover. All the big pieces were there. That group of players was solid. 2012 was really an anomaly. Everything that could have gone bad actually did.

I agree with EmelinHipCheck. Bergevin brought back a sense of pride, leadership from the top.

The interesting thing about that is how much we have been able to win yet get such terrible production from our farm system. Since the 2012-2013 season,

Gallagher- 198-55-57-112

Bournival- 89-10-9-19
Beaulieu- 78-1-10-11
Jarred Tinordi- 43-0-6-6
Jacob De La Rose- 24-3-2-5
Sven Andrighetto- 12-2-1-3
Gabriel Dumont- 15-1-2-3
Thomas- 18-1-0-1
Greg Pateryn- 14-0-0-0
Mike Blunden- 12-0-0-0
Louis Leblanc- 8-0-0-0
Eric Tangradi- 7-0-0-0
Patrick Holland- 5-0-0-0
Drayson Bowman- 3-0-0-0
Joonas Nattinen- 1-0-0-0

Actually the rebuilding of the farm system takes time, the progress of the Bulldogs has begun to show the gradual effect of bringing in better quality players slowly without huge costs in assets. The Habs now have many ex- NHLers in the system playing alongside their young prospects, these types of players with a passion for hockey but not the whole package, are good examples of what hard work can accomplish for our young prospects to learn from. Coaches can teach systems but will never make some players into the Crosby's and other top ten picks are already, that's just unreasonable thinking. Players or most players need to get experience, the AHL/ECHL are these learning grounds to make mistakes and find their limitations, whether great, average or in other areas, IMHO.

What a weird list of names. Might as well add Tokarski's offensive stats to it.

Hopefully this is bound to change soon, else we'll be looking at the same meager offense next year. I hope one of them can graduate and stick here next season.

He was crucified then rose again and has the scars to prove it. We would be nowhere without him. He must get such a chuckle from the cheers and praise knowing what he went through on the way to the level he is at now. DA SYSTEM, DA FRANCHISE, DA SAVIOR!!!!!!!

He had some adjustments to make himself

Great to see just the same

As much as MB deserves credit... most of the players pulling the team to the top are players from drafted from previous eras. We'll see how we are with Bergevin's picks and signings in a few years.

what's weird about it? That's the list of every call up from Hamilton since 2012-2013.

Hopefully this is bound to change soon, else we'll be looking at the same meager offense next year. I hope one of them can graduate and stick here next season.

Hope so cause on a team that so badly lacks scoring it really shows. Just think what the Habs would look like if they got much better production from their call ups.

I am surprised that Bergevin hasn't really made a big splash to make his mark on the team as most of his moves have been minor so far.

It's phenomenal.
Where are the Cups that go along with such prowess? :sarcasm:

Yeah I mean he's been good at pulling the team together and creating a positive environment and everything. He also seems like a nice guy and the players believe in him, which is important.

He took over a team that happened to finish last, but had veterans (plekanec, markov, etc.), budding stars in Price, Subban, Pacioretty, and a 3rd overall pick. It's not that big of a surprise that the team did better since than.

Does he deserve credit? Well yea, he didn't **** anything up and the team has gotten progressively better since. Did he do all of this though? Not really, we'll see when Scherbak, McCarron, etc. are ready to show us their stuff.

What clearing house? It's the same core that was already in place that's winning us games. It's only the role players that keep changing every year (and the hole in the Top 6 RW position)
