Gillett bought the team for 220M? Léo Dandurand bought the team for 10K and made it a legend.
Team + arena for $185M USD (approx $275M CDN with exchange rate at the time) for 100% of arena + 80% of Habs, including a sweetheart interest free $150M CDN loan from Caisse Dépôt.

Remaining 20% of Habs stated w Molson family w first right of refusal in future sale of team

Still think that 08 team was the best we’ve had since 93. Put way too much pressure on Price early. Would’ve been tough getting by Pittsburgh or Detroit, but we essentially gave ourselves no shot.
2007-2008 team was completely dependent on PP to generate offense - could not score 5-on-5 which caught up to them vs Philly

Philly was big if I remember and Biron played well but we were bleeding a lot of goals that series that we shouldn’t have. I still think we beat them if we have Huet.

Habs couldn’t get to any rebounds vs Philly who simply used their bigger bodies to clog front of the net & killed transition game in neutral zone

RJ Umberger made a mockery out of the Habs top line that series AKos-Plekanec-Kovalev forcing numerous turnovers including SH goals
