Post-Game Talk: Habs lose to the Wild. Uneventful at best.

It's clear you don't watch. We beat the Rangers 24 hours after the Leafs loss in maybe the most exciting and inspired game of the year. A few days later we beat Tampa Bay. It's such a lazy narrative that the Leafs loss was a backbreaker. Anyone who says that probably only watches the Habs when they play the Leafs.
I can tell difference in club. They not playing with same intensity. After choke job like that. Goalie let it some softies. Broke their heart. On a big time roll, up 3 zip have way through. Wifi pointing to clock seemed to rile Leafs. It was crushing loss.

Habs win few games yes, won't be skunked no. But not same team. Habs 12-3-1 going in, 2-5-0 since. Hockey usually a game of momentum. I've been around hockey 55 years, seen it many times.

Momentum will always shift... even after a slump. Habs will get hot again, just like they went cold again.

I'm still not expecting to make the playoffs, but when it all plays out I'll repeat I expect them to come close.

Dw. Team is right on schedule. Progression as expected.

I’m sure someone believes that
We’re on pace for…. 85 points. Right around where most thought we’d be.

We weren’t as bad as we seemed at the beginning of the year and were not as good as the team that was super hot. We were never going to finish the year that hot.

The Four Nations thing will be a welcome break.

Pace should never be considered a real thing if a team can barely ever string any wins together

I don’t think pace really means anything when it comes to this team. We have one really hot streak sandwiched between a bunch of losing.

Wild didn't even have Kaprizov and they were back-to-back.

This team is just garbage and not ready for any type of run, outside of running laps outside the Bell Centre in -30 weather. We're only down Heineman and Ghule and the team looks like it can't even compete. Playoffs are about injuries, imagine wanting to make the playoffs with this weak ass roster.
Losing Heineman already had us scrambling for solutions to the point our staff decided to break up the pairings that worked best. Losing Guhle is akin to a catastrophic failure of your motherboard.

"We have been able to reproduce a catastrophic failure resulting in the motherboard self-immolating

Way too many *no juice* games lately.

On the bright side they are easy to spot so you can just turn it off/focus on other things after 20min.

Next Laine Lane when? It's been 84 years.

Or they ran out of gas. During the winning streak every game was barely won, a comeback win and/or won in OT. Which means they had to go all out in every game. Can't keep that up with no extra players and 2 stone hands lines.

Team is returning to it's natural state. They where very hot for a while and won a few they didn't deserve during that run. For what ever reason, thing where going their way. Now, puck luck is gone and deficiencies are just more obvious. I'm sure they will have another series of wins at some point, but it shouldn't be seen as the team being "done".

The Laine-Dach-Newhook line is bad. I very much like where Dach's game is going, Newhook is fast, but so physically weak and make too many bad decision. Laine is starting to frustrate me to the point that I dont see him with the team pass this contract, or even pass this summer.

I like Evan and Anderson's energy at 5v5 and on the PK... but on the bottom 6... these are the only two guys that deserve to stay. Armia is on the fence for me. I wouldn't mind if he stayed, but as a 4th line/PK specialist. Gally's time in MTL must come to an end. to slow and too weak.

I've been saying for a while now that the RD need serious help. Savard is done and Matheson isn't a solution. Mid-term, you have Carrier and Reinbacher.... you are still missing a vet RD to play with Hutson or Guhle.

At least the G is addressed.

No better feeling than giving a stand ovation to the tender shutting you out 😭

Was a joke, the team was ready to give him the shutout all night long. Fans simping for an opposing player. Just a disgusting night. Turned it off before I had to hear any more glowing about Flower by the TSN crew.

Nice guy but he's a compiler. He'll be in first ballot based on that alone but he's not a first ballot for me. Mediocre goalie who sucked in crunch time and needed Matt Murray to give him his two other cups behind some of the most stacked teams in salary cap history.
