Post-Game Talk: Habs lose to the Leafs. Fail to clinch.

Keep playing Pezz and Savard, Marty.

I've always been an MSL supporter and I think he's been great at developing the kids. But if he's going to coach like this when we compete and actually want to win, then we should be worried about him over the next few years.

I thought he was a different coach, a new breed that’s leaning on offense and young players. What we're seeing right now, as the stakes rise and we're trying to win, is the opposite. Leaning on vets, playing not to lose... I thought we had enough of the dinosaur mentality. I hope he'll be better when we're going to contend.
He's just a 3 foot shorter version of every bad coach we've had in the recent past. The old boy's club. Anyone who thinks this guy is part of the new breed of coaches has kool-aid poisoning. To start Dvorak, Evans and Matheson in OT is bad enough. To leave Evans out there with Suzuki after we gained possession is inexcusable.

I don't understand how people still think this coach is what we need. I get it... bon petit gars d'chez nous and has great sound bites. But the team clearly needs more than concepts at this point.
No. You prefer old fashion coaches instead?

This is still a rebuilding team. This run is somewhat of a lala land story. No one in their right mind was expecting it.

I read this week that if they make the playoffs, they would become one of the youngest team EVER to make it.

He’s a perfect coach for this rebuilding team.

Exactly. No one, including me, thought Habs would be in a PO spot at this point of the season.

Let’s be honest, not going very far in the PO’s, at this point just get in, let this young team get a taste of the PO’s and that will be a very successful season in my books.

I hope they put Demidov on the 1st PP unit Monday, don't galaxy brain it like Matheson over Hutson for the first 2 months. You can't convince me that our PP is better with Slaf on it instead of Demidov.
We desperately NEED a legitimate shooting threat from the point. Until then, the PP will continue to suck ass, because the opposing team knows all they have to do is collapse down low and clog up the slot while boxing everyone to the outside. Having a cannon on the point would fix everything. Where’s Sheldon Souray these days? 😂

He fumbles the puck a lot. He can't make decisions even if he has more space. And on that winning goal...how do you back up so much.....guy is afraid of making mistakes 'cause he makes them so much. The ice he gave Marner...might as well send Mitch on a breakaway....
I agree that Hutson plays it much tighter that's just how he defends. The play he made on Knies late in the game to send us on a partial break was next level. Matheson can't make that one in his dreams he just can't.

So what’s your plan. You’re the GM. Would you fire MSL right now or wait till the end of the playoffs?

Blackhawks just took the Jets to a shootout.

There are no easy opponents in the NHL.

Especially for us, with our one consistent offensive line.
Chicago is 3-5-2 in their last 10. If Habs lose to Chitown and a probable B-Team from Carolina, they will have earned their elimination.

But they will win on Monday. Bell Centre will be electric. Demidov playing, the tension of a playoff spot. It’ll be like against Philly.

I have faith in Washington
