Man this board is insufferable with the MSL comments. We can disagree with the choices, but reality is this team shouldn’t be in a playoffs spot, yet they are. Our young players a developing well. We generally play a fun style of hockey, and people freak out cause we lose against a contender. MSL is indeed the least of our worries, this team has overachieved by a lot.

Carrier and Dobes were awesome tonight. Seriously, Leafs have a strong d now and a goaltender.
Otherwise Habs looked overmatched at times. Believe it showed the importance of rolling 4 lines and 6 d men once you reach the playoffs.

And that penalty on Savard in the third looked brutal. Still enjoyed the game though and they are one point closer to clinching.

I've always been an MSL supporter and I think he's been great at developing the kids. But if he's going to coach like this when we compete and actually want to win, then we should be worried about him over the next few years.

I thought he was a different coach, a new breed that’s leaning on offense and young players. What we're seeing right now, as the stakes rise and we're trying to win, is the opposite. Leaning on vets, playing not to lose... I thought we had enough of the dinosaur mentality. I hope he'll be better when we're going to contend.

I hope they put Demidov on the 1st PP unit Monday, don't galaxy brain it like Matheson over Hutson for the first 2 months. You can't convince me that our PP is better with Slaf on it instead of Demidov.

It wasn't a bad game. We played a lot better than the shot totals indicated against a good TO team. The refs did us no favours as well. But it's ridiculous that we couldn't hit the net.

Also, amazing that Marner scored the game winner. He's always had the talent but he may now actually have learned to score when it matters.

No 3 on 3 in the playoffs.

We've had some bad games recently. I just don't think this was one of them.

It wasn't a great game by any means but it wasn't bad. We just couldn't hit the net. Credit to the Leafs for blocking shots but even without that we missed wide a lot.

A far better performance that doesn't read on the shot clock, compared to the prior two wherein we came out flat against worse teams.

And for sure you are entitled to your opinion, however if Hutson is on on the second wave he is also facing a more favorable matchup . And in end Suzuki got two grade a chances, was held on was supposed to a penalty and marner jumped on a change , I just don’t see where the fault is on Matheson

He fumbles the puck a lot. He can't make decisions even if he has more space. And on that winning goal...how do you back up so much.....guy is afraid of making mistakes 'cause he makes them so much. The ice he gave Marner...might as well send Mitch on a breakaway....

We "should" be in this spot precisely because we have an excellent coaching staff in place... They are overachieving externally, but internally, from the top to the bottom, they believe in what they accomplished and know the best is yet to come.

Hutson is just way better than Matheson in every facet of the game and should play in all key situations.
