Post-Game Talk: Habs lose to the Leafs. Fail to clinch.

Carrier and Dobes were awesome tonight. Seriously, Leafs have a strong d now and a goaltender.
Otherwise Habs looked overmatched at times. Believe it showed the importance of rolling 4 lines and 6 d men once you reach the playoffs.

And that penalty on Savard in the third looked brutal. Still enjoyed the game though and they are one point closer to clinching.

That fat f*** Savard and MM are irreplaceable. Armia is a beast can’t sit him right ?
Need Big Play Dave on the PK

We've had some bad games recently. I just don't think this was one of them.

It wasn't a great game by any means but it wasn't bad. We just couldn't hit the net. Credit to the Leafs for blocking shots but even without that we missed wide a lot.
That's just shows how bad Habs can be if this wasnt o ne of them
7 shots on 40 minutes
And 1 line has 6 of them

I would think that's a first for Habs ever

The shot numbers look terrible. And usually it's indicative of a bad game. But there's an exception to every rule and that was the case tonight. We weren't nearly as bad as the shots indicate. We had lots of chances but couldn't hit the net.

Clearly, you didn't understand my point. I'm saying that WHILE he is a great skater....I STILL wouldn't use him on OT.
And for sure you are entitled to your opinion, however if Hutson is on on the second wave he is also facing a more favorable matchup . And in end Suzuki got two grade a chances, was held on was supposed to a penalty and marner jumped on a change , I just don’t see where the fault is on Matheson

If we lose to the blackhawks on Monday I'm going to lose my shit.

Nothing can ever be easy with this team. Fully expect it to come down to the last game of the season.
Kind of reminds me of a game many years ago. All the Habs had to do was win or score a certain number of goals. Detroit threw the game to the Rangers in the afternoon and the proceeded to get smoked by Chicago 10-2. It was a sad day.

We lost in OT against a potential cup contender, tired.

And we got rid of three teams today.

Our diamond in the rough goalie with Laval came as advertised. The other kid goalie was amazing.

Out phenom is getting integrated quickly and will play in f***ing Montréal, in front of 21, 273 crazy folks. Guys will be pumped and will win it.

This forum makes Reddit become reasonable. Which is scary.
It's not that bad. Who can blame the fans after the insane roller coaster of winning streaks and losing streaks this season. Monday is the trappiest of all the trap games we've had in recent days.
The odds are all still on our side but I'd rather be clinching than clenching. :sarcasm:

Really? The Jackets are bigger than the Habs. I’d rather play the small and soft team
I agree.
The Jackets also have more talent, but unfortunately for them they were hit with injuries to key players like Jenner, Chinakhov, Monahan and Gudbransson for considerable amount of time. Montreal has the advantage in net, that’s it.

Can't believe the penalty they called on Savard and then the no high stick on Nylander.
That is two games in a row we are getting absolutely beaten down with bad calls.

2? That's more than 2 games. We haven't got more than 2 pp a game in the last 6 games.

Fun reading this thread. We are still a rebuilding team let's not forget. Just because 2 players have been better than expected doesn't suddenly mean the rest of the team has become elite.🤣
Exactly; this team was supposed to finish in the bottom five, and have played like it for large stretches of the season. If not for Suzuki breaking out and Huston's emergence, we'd be there.

It's not a good team - barely a D-corps, one forward line with some holes therein and a bunch of vets having revitalized years masking the fact that they're not actually quality players any longer (if they ever were, Devork...). One could even expect regression and a missed playoffs next year.
