Didn't watch it today...recorded it....worth watching it? lolll

Seriously, and not related to today as I didn't watch it, but in your top 6 that includes Laine, you have half of the players not known for their effort and desire to be in the tough areas in Dach, Laine and Slaf.
Dach has been extremely physical lately. This doesn't apply to him at all right now.
And you have a Newhook with the medicore IQ. Enters Demidov next year...sure. but it's still so much not enough....

I would have been tempted to keep Evans and Armia but frankly...not even sure we are competing in the next 3 years so...what's the point...
Keep Evans if his demands are fair.

Not saying Evans is a game breaker, but the team most likely regress if he doesn’t come back next season and we count on a rookie like Beck to carry the burden of the defensive assigments and the PK.

Weird thing is if we win tomorrow (big IF), we're still only 4 points out of WC2, as Detroit lost today and all the other teams around us are crashing back down to earth, too.

Currently, we're 6 pts out of WC2, and 6 pts out of draft pick #4 (Buffalo has 2 games in hand on us, too). Lol

We're teetering on the edge.....

I think that's what so frustrating. The WC spot was right there if we just played solid hockey for the 2nd half of the season. I think it's too hard to jump so many teams unless they hit a crazy winning streak of 7/8 in a row, and a couple 5 game streaks. Too many holes to make it happen, imo. I just wish they were competing for the spot but a top 5 pick is more likely than a WC spot, imo.

I'd rather try Beck or Heineman or even Dach to get that line moving again.
The knock on Slaf right now is he's playing slow both moving the puck and moving his feet.
I don't see how Laine can help the pace of that line.

Slaf - Beck - Heineman is a line I would like to see, force Slaf to play with pace.

I know he's young.....I know younger players have become better at 22-23 and all that...but still, we have the right to be concerned by Slaf lack of IQ, lack of implication, lack of goalscoring abitlies, lack of effort etc....

So glad I missed this one. I can't remember the last time where I wasn't aware what time the game was at. Just goes to show to what level my interest has dropped with this team.

They had a good stretch there which was fun but, most of the time, it really is not enjoyable to watch this team. I have never this level of disinterest in my 50+ years as a fan. Complete joke...

It's hard watching Slaf when he's not moving his feet. They need to work on a way to get his feet moving as he enters the zones and receives the puck from Suzuki. It just keeps dying on his stick because he's standing still. Something is off because he was more effective last year. I'm hoping there's an injury or something because there are some flags going off. I guess the positive is he will always be an okay player. I just wish he would wreck havoc in front of the net if and making the job of the opposing d difficult. he plays like he's 5 foot. Gallagher is the only guy in the lineup that fits that mold of going to the tough spots on the ice. Monahan did last year too. I just don't know how you find that guy unless it's through the draft.

I'm not really concerned with this total shit play at this point. I kind of expected it after the Guhle freak injury. Time to give some of our kids roles to fill and see where there games are at. We should also look to reduce Hutson's ice time. He'll put up more points when he's better rested.

Here is the trade list

Matheson
Savard
Montombeau
Evans
Pezetta
Armia
Anderson
Dvorak
Gallagher
Dach
Newhook
Laine

This team is rotten , Back to Ducharme era

I think we need to be more patient with Laine. I mean if you get a great offer sure.

But he has more than just the PP shot. For sure he'll have to be good enough defensively too when he's all the way back though.

Would be great if we could get a 1st for Matheson though. And then either sign a good top pair UFA RD, or package the first we get for Matheson to get a top pair RD. The Flames have 2 1sts in the next two drafts and are looking for an offensive LD.

Well, fwiw, I’m officially concerned about Marty.

Couldn’t see today’s game - thanks TSN! - but reading about poor effort game after game sets off all kinds of alarm bells.

It just keeps happening, with a playoff spot not out of reach. Geezuz.

Other things like wrong personnel sent out a critical moments is another thorn I seem to read a lot about here.

If well-paid pros can’t play for the uni, for personal pride and for respect, then a team playing with a skate or two in the sand, is in deep trouble.

These fans man lol, that team was supposedly the best thing ever not even a whole month ago and now let's trade everyone lol
The “bipolar Habs fans” thing makes a lot more sense when you accept/understand our passionate fanbase revere the Habs — not just cheer, but worship. It’s a religion.

If the Habs are successful the players are saints to be beatified. If the Habs are not successful the players are demons to be exorcized.

Case in point: Joel Armia.

Guy’s been a cap dump, a turd, and a decent but inconsistent bottom6er at various points over his Habs tenure. Four weeks ago people wanted to extend his contract — as if he hasn’t been majorly disappointing for most of his current one. Today you wouldn’t get anyone to propose such a heinous thing as to retain his services.
