ok I am not a pro player
but IF the big excuse is no gas, out of energy
This is a young team, so that means when this team gets older it will be worse?
Throwing this out there they might need to clear up their diet and hit the gym harder.

Yikes. Rough game by the habs. Feels like they are going backwards.

Is this the real habs team or was it the team clicking in Dec and early Jan?

Time to try and dump laine at the deadline?

So today St-Louis rant is about lack of confidence. Don’t watch every post game conference from MSL but he really seems to be a positive coach. Rarely throws his player under the bus.
Which is why players love him, but I don't think his diagnosis is accurate, at least in public. This might be the reason the team is lethargic for long periods of time. One thing is losing, but another one is to be non-competitive for long periods of time.

When you lack confidence, you need to do the simple things that will allow you to get your confidence back...Confidence doesn't fall down from the f***ing sky,.

3-6-1 in our last 10 games. Season over.

Weird thing is if we win tomorrow (big IF), we're still only 4 points out of WC2, as Detroit lost today and all the other teams around us are crashing back down to earth, too.

Currently, we're 6 pts out of WC2, and 6 pts out of draft pick #4 (Buffalo has 2 games in hand on us, too). Lol

We're teetering on the edge.....

My idea against Tampa:

Caufield - Suzuki - Newhook
Slafkovský - Dach - Anderson
Laine - Beck - Gallagher
Dvorak - Evans - Armia

Beck is a center, him and Gallagher are warriors and can pass.
Dvorak can play winger. The fourth line can start in DZ.
Newhook very helped Suzuki and Canfield, with his speed he created paths for them.
Slafkovský and Anderson would hard at the boards, for checking. Also Juraj has better hockey IQ than Newhook.

M...ouch. He seems to attract goals for every mistake.

X...boards say ouch

Monty...thanks for nothing

Laine...please retire this afternoon. No really, this afternoon...

Math-Carrier...who knew that they are this teams Ministry of Defense

Our defense was suspect at the beginning of the year, then settled down for the run, now a mess again. I can't believe Guhle absence is so massive. It just puts a fork in our pairings because we simply don't have the right combo to pair. Hutson needs TLC and not going to get it from another rookie. M needs veteran TLC and won't get it from blind leading the blind. I love what X brings but he's a 6th defenseman. Savard is old and it shows.

If it was anyone but Guhle, we wouldn't have this mess.

Team is too stubborn and immature, and I don't think MSL knows how to put them back on the rails.

...he isn't the right guy for the job anymore...yup, sound like a broken record but so does this team...we need Structure, we need Accountability...Marty can Hug It Out all day now, no one is listening...Marty needs to go at the ends of the Season, bring in a tougher coach and see who is actually listening and who isn't...if they aren't, move 'em out...

Yes but 92 is generational
Funny thing is, Patrik played pretty well in this game. If only he had gotten the puck when he was in open space.

But no one can blame Evans. He plays vertical hockey, focused on the battle. That's why Heineman is so good with him. He has great acceleration and plays a similar style of hockey. Which is why he might not have chemistry with Suzuki and Caufield. They prefer more horizontal with puck possession, passing.

Good effort, terrible strategies and coaching. The inability to free up Laine on the PP is just one example of the slow moving incompetence that is this coaching staff.
