It was really hard to take many positives away from last night's effort. But there were a couple worth mentioning:
Beck looks sharp. He just gets the game. A few of things that continue to stand out are his overall strong mobility, awareness on the ice as he scans around, and his shot release. He doesn't need much time or space to get the puck towards the net, and it goes with velocity. He didn't take a lot of draws, but he was 71% on them (winning 5 out of 7, I believe).
I liked Newhook's effort. He skated hard, and made some good plays with and without the puck.
Laine, Dach and Slafkovsky all had poor games in my opinion.
