5 hours or so post game and only 2 pages so far on the PGT. A symptom of sucking ass and playing in the middle of sleeptime.
Yes Newhook ja Dach were awesome! Dach was on the ice 3 goals against and Newhook was 2.
Another successful reclamation project by Mr Dollarama.Oooooh you mean i get ten shiny toys instead of the real thing....sign me up. from what iv've heard, another could care less game by Lame.Don't re-sign Laine. Even at league minimum
Laine needs so many resposible players with him . Its glaring. This dude is lazy and I dont think its gonna change. I dont care if they dump his azzAnother successful reclamation project by Mr Dollarama.Oooooh you mean i get ten shiny toys instead of the real thing....sign me up. from what iv've heard, another could care less game by Lame.
I don't think the Jesus knows..Jesus what happened to this team?
Some posters can get real riled up eh!! lolLets see how cranky we are today?

The boys are literally out of gas.................the schedule makers have won this battle!!
Can they win one this weekend before their 12 day break??
Always were. Just got a jolt by adding Laine and the PP was firing on all cylinders. Now teams have figured it out (incredibly easy to defend against). The lowly Sharks scored a PP goal that was nicer than anything I’ve seen the Habs do the last 3 seasons.Looking like a bottom 5 team with that performance.
Without Guhle we are. He is a big piece. That shows we don’t have the depth to be competitive in a long season.Looking like a bottom 5 team with that performance.
They look exhausted. Some posters can get real riled up eh!! lol

When you lose your best defensemen on a team that's on the bubble, it's a huge loss.Without Guhle we are. He is a big piece. That shows we don’t have the depth to be competitive in a long season.
I wouldn’t be surprised we end up getting a top 5 pick again this year. Which is great.
Yeah, he should’ve won the cup by now. What a loser.Hughes gave up a cushy agent career to Bruins players to watch up close a pathetic Habs roster lose for three straight years and counting. He really must be a Bruins fan deep down if he’s enjoying this.
Unless his demands are crazy we should not sell Evans. Good news is that his scoring has come back down to earth so maybe the contract demands will be more reasonable. With that loss, and what I will predict (probably pretty safely) will be back to back losses against the Devils and Lightning on Super Bowl weekend, it’s officially time to cut bait and become de facto sellers.
Shit the bed against Anaheim, squeaked out a win against the worst team and goaltender in the league, and now getting manhandled by LA? Pretty obvious to anyone who follows this team that they aren’t going to make the playoffs.
The trick will be to get through this weekend healthy, so none of the trade bait loses any of their value and have two weeks off to recharge the batteries.
Habs should be open for business, and I look forward to seeing some guys moved. At this point, I see guys like Savard, Armia, Dvorak, Pezzetta and Evans all having new homes before or at the deadline. The only ones that will garner much of a return would be Evans packaged with Armia as the best penalty killing duo in the league. But it’s purge time now, and I trust Hughes to get the best return available.
Reinbacher is on the way. That will add some much needed steadiness and depth. It takes time.In an interview a while ago Hugues said normally you first build your D then your C line then your wingers. It's crazy how they tought they did that (and almost convinced us) but it's kind of crumbling away.
We've been lacking C for 30 years but I think the D core needs more help soon, with the time it takes to develop. Next season is again gonna be the same thing, even with Demidov. At this point I don't think it's on MSL but on HuGo.
Suzuki is certainly playing injured to not break his ironman streak but he must also be mentally tired of having to drag the entire team with only Caufield playing at a top 6 level. This summer would be a good timing to win the #1 or #2 pick.
Definitely don’t sign him this year. Needs to prove it.Don't re-sign Laine. Even at league minimum
Indeed. Some of our fan base is such an embarrassment.
Yep. The spaghetti sauce needs more time before it’s ready. This team can’t afford to lose productive players, we don’t have the depth to survive it right now. But we knew that already.Without Guhle we are. He is a big piece. That shows we don’t have the depth to be competitive in a long season.

My guess is that concerts/NBA schedules probably played a role. How stupid is it to have the team go from Anaheim to SJ, then back south to LA, and make the last two games back-to-back? The schedule is stupid.
Team desperately needs a break I suppose.
Is it just me or the Habs can't seem to stay on their skates. Again tonight multiple players falling all on their own. Carrier and Newhook especially.
Is there anything worse than the segment that starts to sing annoyingly once the team goes up a goal or two? Some of our fan base is such an embarrassment.

For this writer, the only thing of consequence in watching this re-building team is the performance of the young players we are hoping will be the core building blocks of a future winning team. As most here know, I have closely followed and opined on the development of a number of those young players, including Owen Beck. I once wrote that my interest in Beck was really peaked when I read that at the 2022 draft there were several Montreal scouts who were literally banging the table hard about drafting Beck at 26 OA and were upset that we went with Mesar. Fortuitously, Beck was still on the board when we drafted at 33 OA.
In my reporting I had consistently praised Beck's skating, play making and shooting ability and repeatedly questioned the prevailing consensus that projected Beck as a bottom six, defensive forward. I couldn't understand what other pundits saw (or failed to see) what I saw: a player with explosive skating and high skills.
Despite my confidence in this kid's potential, there always was a lingering doubt (as there should always be) as to whether Beck's skills were transferrable to the NHL level. While it's only been a couple of games, Beck has shown, at least to this writer, the skill and skating ability to play and play well in the NHL. His outside speed and offensive vision shown in these two games provides the assurance that I was looking for that Beck, if his development and acclimation to the NHL continues, will become a core player of the Canadiens going forward.
Whether we won or lost last night, is completely secondary to that comforting realization. I hope that, that comfort is duplicated after seeing Demidov play in his first couple of NHL games.
Now that would be something to sing about.
I am a bit more optimistic about Beck's offensive upside. Whatever, Beck is here to stay.Beck is a NHL player very soon. Lots to like with his skating, IQ, and size. True type center as well. The issue I have is pumping that up to 2C levels. It's not impossible but it has very very low probability.
He has never dominated offensively in any league and to be a 2C in the NHL, you need to have 60+ points potential.
Beck will be like a Danault or Evans and that's if he reaches his ceiling. I have him anywhere from Poehling to Evans to Danault. That's a decent range in talent but I do feel Beck falls in there somewhere.
