We didn't watch the same game. I thought we had a decent start this time. And decent start to the second period as well. After our goal the wheels came off for like 10 min and the damage was done.

Outside of the total collapse for 10 minutes in the 2nd I thought they played a good game. That's what's so frustrating.
Even if Savard was the best PKer of all time, it remains a teams game and it's not just his job to prevent goals on the PK. Your post is a bit of a bait in a completely different direction that is not pertinent.
I actually agree with this Thompson has been fire. Was hoping for Lindgren but no such luck. With Lindgren in net, might be 2-0 habs.
Yes clearly it's going to take a better effort over 60+ mins to win but I don't think the Caps are exactly thrilled with their game either.
They've won and that's ultimately what matters, but again, I don't think the margins have been that big between both teams.

My post is a passive-aggressive way of saying the Savard should not be in the lineup. And also that this is playoffs and instead of looking at the refs for calls, team should play eye for an eye and if required take (and kill ) a penalty to show Caps that they will lose a few teeth and have a few broken bones if this shit continues. Even with the fundamental lack of experience, I believe crosschecking someone in the face doesn't not require a ton of skill. They can do it. The HAVE to do it!
Shots were 10-4 or 9-4 after the first period for Washington. We weren't as bad or as dominated as in Game 1, but we still started off real slow. And besides the goal in the second period, we looked worse.
It’s the same story every playoff; the only thing that will happen, is that the referee ‘pool’ gets cut down after every round…..then you see the worst of them not having games for the rest of the playoffs.
I have been watching hockey for over 50 years now, and the one thing you can always count on, is the inconstancy of playoffs refereeing.
Some players get freebies, some players never draw penalties due to reputation ( think Gallagher) and some players are scrutinized and have referees arms halfway up as soon as they touch the ice ( think Xhekaj)

Am I the only one that is sorely disappointed in Struble lack of any kind of physicality and aggression. Maybe I missed a hit or two, but overall he's been very timid and passive. He is a tough kid when he wants to be. Time to show it.
Posters didn't get Laine's head. He got sat down because he was obviously completely inneffective. Even his bread and butter on the PP, he can't move his feet or body even a little to adjust for a pass. He's completely useless out there, everyone can see it. For a vet like that with 1 year left at 8M on his deal to be sat an entire 3rd period... something is obviously wrong with him big time.

So true. But for anyone who has read the E-mails which were part of the court case... we cannot be surprised by their lack of professionalism. It's probably even encouraged.

He is obviously badly injured. His knees probably can barely support his weight... but that being said... remember what we found out about Shea Weber after the 2021 run? Laine doesn't not have that level of commitment and dedication.

Demidov looks like a 19 year old who played a full season in another country then has been thrown into a high pressure situation in his first 4 NHL games with minimal time to adjust to not only a new team and league, but a new language.
After seeing how much Caufield has improved under MSL, I feel MSL will be great for Demidov's development.
MSL needs to give Demidov way more ice time and play him on every PP.

I'd put Pezz in... Kapanen is another creampuff. Pezz will NOT be worse than him and at least he actually looks to hit and stir shit and doesn't take shit.

Just for fun i'd go with same lines use in the 3rd......scratch Laine and Armia......dress X as a 7th D-4th liner.....
call X brother and play an occasional 4th line of Heineimen-x junior-X.
We can't keep watching our best players getting abuse like that and do nothing, if you have to go down the less you can do is go down fighting.
