Yes, another guy sweeps your leg with knee after missed hit, you fall. Have you ever played hockey?

The roster is bad and we don’t have any depth. The AHL team can’t be picked at either. -> Which is why I won’t criticise MSL for his lineup decisions.

Hopefully we win a game at home and keep it respectable but no team can really do much without a second line.

The fact we could have won either game is promising. VERY valuable experience for the young players. They look shell shocked by the speed and physicality.

I don’t buy that Washington is bringing some sort of out of the ordinary physicality. This is par for the course of the Stanley cup playoffs.

we don’t need to bring in a “tough” defenseman. We needed another veteran D that can move the puck under pressure and control a gap
We could use Brian Gionta as a pep rally guy/cheerleader. He knew how to lead a room.

I don't think it's the physicality, or the pace... I think he's an extremely smart player, and he's hesitant because he knows a blown coverage can end up in the back of our net right away... Plus he's learning our style of game on the fly with very little practice time.
Exactly! He had an amazing first game (regular season) but he made a mistake which cost us the game. I'm sure he thought that his main goal is to not make such mistakes again, since they might cost the entire team. He's the new guy, can't make mistakes. Next season the context will be different

Playoffs is where assholes dominate. Been the same since organized hockey was invented.

Case in point, Corey Perry.

Gorton remembers why he got jettisoned out of the NY Rangers' org. He's not going to let that roster stay limp in the off season.

Dunno. Hughes is gonna fight for his boys Newhook and Struble. They both used to be his clients and Struble is considered to be like an adopted son.

Newhook isn't an issue, he will be a solid player for us in the long run. He is a bottom 6 player asked to play in a top 6 right now, I'm really not worried about him at all once we find our #2 center

Who's a was a what now? Newhook is garbage. He's a crappier, much crappier version of Paul Byron. At 24 he is what he is, a speedy low scoring winger.

Those ref and the league want to see Ovi in the final.

I think so does Marty St. Louis.

I'm a huge Xhekaj fan but it's too late now. If changes were to be made, they should have been after the first game when we got absolutely destroyed physically. Caufield, Hutson, Guhle among others were targeted and it continued tonight.

MSL in all his wisdom said that Wilson would not change his game whether X was dressed or not and, that may be true. What he doesn't realize however is the bigger picture of how our players would have played with X in the lineup.

I don't give a f*** about Wilson and whether he changes his game or not. What I know for sure though is that our guys would have been less scared and intimidated and would've played with more confidence. How could our coach be completely blind to that? How many times do you think Dubois would have tried to get under Suzuki's skin after a whistle with X on the ice??

But hey, X haters, Kumbaya sandal wearing no violence in hockey advocates and MSL fanboys, you got what you wanted. No X in either game!!

What'll kill me is if MSL keeps Arber out of all the playoff games. Imagine a kid finally having his chance at a playoff game in MTL but being denied because of Savard's retirement tour and the GM's pet Struble.

Down 2 need to make a line up change just to get a spark going. I’d honestly sit Laine for Kapanen and ‘rest’ Savard so he can be ready for whatever ends up being his final game. Free Arber, if he can play physical without taking penalties would be a big boost to the players

3 goals in 2 games. Its not like you have a bunch of offensive weapons sitting, so maybe go 11-7, double shift Suzuki.

See if you can get the team playing bigger.

Should be obvious the players I've been saying that need to go/be upgraded upon need to go.

Kind of a small note by the end of the game, but there was an icing at the beginning of the game that the Caps complained about that ended up being moved to center ice, idk right after what happened at the end of game 1 that really ticked me off lmao.

I noticed this as well, it pissed me off too.

It s funny but this game was lost on two mistakes (there were more but Monty was rock solid) which in my opinion have not been mentioned that much :
- WSH goal n1 : Savard does not catch McMichael but he is not in a great spot. However, Struble makes a big mistake not covering McMichael : he is a lefty on his good side, while McMichael would have a complicated pass to Dowd and Struble needs to cover McMichael while Savard needs to come back to cover the slot. Not sure if it is a System thing or a Struble decision mistake but it is a mistake
- WSH goal n2 : I am not of those Overall criticizing Matheson I think but his cross pass in the middle of the ice, that gets intercepted, this is a very low IQ Move : It s a high Risk low reward move for me. But again I think the Habs miss a player in the middle of the ice to Redirect those pucks during zone exits.

Just my 2 cents
