Hutson is great and all, but man I wish he had a slap shot. On that one power play he kept feeding Laine. They went back and forth a few times and the caps knew it was Laine that was going to shoot. Lane had a clear lane but wouldn't because he can't. I don't know if a little guy like that will ever get velocity but it sure would help.

He's got a better shot than he lets on, though I'm sure it'll get worse as he uses it less and less.

But he seems to have the "why would I shoot when I can just pass to all these amazing shooters."

I think Laine is the issue though. He's even less mobile than before, so the PKers cheat to Caufield's side, while the goalie can cheat to Laine.

There's no double standard. My thoughts on each situation was and is explained in detail. That you don't agree doesn't make it a double standard and the call out after a playoff loss is unnecessary considering one of the players been out of for months and doesn't have a decade of history of being a weirdo and a headcase. I'd add I would say the same regarding Dach if he talked a big game than followed it up with one of the most embarassing playoff efforts I've seen. Hope this clarifies everything.

I mean you did flat out tell me I'm unreasonable for dogging on Dach because he missed a year but the same doesn't apply to Laine in which he suffered another horrendous knee injury after a year of no hockey which would have been so easy to call the year off for someone to do if they didn't care.

That's the definition of a double standard but oh well, we can move on. Didn't mean to come off as an angry attack, I was just genuinely curious.

Big difference between saying that you prefer player A over player B and saying that we'd have won with one over the other.

I really like X. I'd have never taken him out of the lineup and I'd have him as my 3rd pair going forward. But he's got warts as well. To me, Savard has been washed for a while but he's one of only two right shots in the lineup... without him you've only got one. Crazy to have five lefties in the lineup.

If we're going to replace Savard, I'd actually bring in Reinbacher. If we want X, I'd have him replace Struble.

Suzuki playing 24 minutes is just madness. It's way too much, it's affecting his play.

It's too much. They need to get others to take defensive responsibilities. We need him for his offense. There's simply no other option at center who can score.

Xhekaj is a better penalty killer than Savard at this stage (and yes, that's backed up by statistics you'll find in the GDT)

Savard is completely useless. Any other narrative is wrong. He can’t move. He’s a beer league dman. He looked lost on the 1st goal. Has to be at defensive blue line in order to not get beat and still backs in montembeault. Heads into the corner for some reason only to skate back to the crease and have puck banked in off of him

One of the reasons our PP is so predictable is because he is no threat to shoot the puck.

- Slaf also had a good game. 5 SOG, 3 Hits, 1 shot blocked.
- Guhle and Hutson looked good and you saw them adjust their game from Game 1 and Game 2.
- Monty has been solid in both games, which is encouraging.

What will Kapanen do except no points? No joke, Id rather have Condotta right now. He can play the 4th and lay some hits.

There’s no way he could do any worse than Laine. Putting a Roomba out there would be better than Laine - it would probably make its way to the front of the net at some point and there’d at least be a possibility of some deflections. Might get in the way and block some shots and/or trip up some WSH players too.

Savard is finished. At best you can only play him like once every two or three games.
