Yeah we missed out on PLD, could use a guy like him.

They held their own for most of the game. It took 5 minutes of breakdowns for Caps to capitalize. I'm not saying Caps played like shit except those 4 minutes because they played great. But Habs were right there with them most of the game.

2nd was real tough but they could have won it and the 3rd looked good again.

It's not just about getting bigger. We don't need more gentle giants. We need some mean MFs who are borderline criminals, who stir shit and get away with stuff in the playoffs.

Hutson is great and all, but man I wish he had a slap shot. On that one power play he kept feeding Laine. They went back and forth a few times and the caps knew it was Laine that was going to shoot. Lane had a clear lane but wouldn't because he can't. I don't know if a little guy like that will ever get velocity but it sure would help.

Good reminder yet again that the environment has a huge impact on player performance... A year ago PLD was considered a write off by many, including the team that had just signed him to a big deal.

They are playing hard for what they have.

It was an uphill battle. You got Gallagher playing 18 minutes as well as Dvorak. They played well but thats not what you ever would want


There is a gaping hole on the second line which sinks this team. Armia, Heineman not able to give whats needed as well, whether its injury or whatnot, its just not there.

The third periods im not sure if its Washington playing conservative or if they cant sustain how they start the game so physical or MTL desperate or all the above but its interesting how the Caps are struggling in 3rd periods

Strome and PLD are gutless pukes. McMichael is a very good player now that he has a real coach.

Honestly, it would be hard for him to have his first game in this situation but he could stabilize the defense.

He is that good but man he is just starting to get his game back. Gustav Lindstrom wouldn't embarrass the Habs in a limited role though

But ended 32-26, because while they dominated the 2nd period, we dominated the 3rd. 1st period was 50/50.

Can we just get a couple games where they are ready to play? Playing true hockey for 12 minutes in the 3rd is no way to win in the playoffs.
Thus team starts so slow for a month now... it's getting old!

We played a half decent first period the second period killed us obviously.
