It's hard to win hockey games when Heineman/Newhook/Armia/Evans have terrible offensive instincts. That's a third of the forward group right there. Laine isn't an NHLer and Demidov is too green and that makes half.

Newhook needs to go. The guy is everyone the Habs ever had who generates a ton of speed and doesn't make effective plays out of it. Jan Bullis, Russ Courtnall reincarnated.

Well, voted Caps in 4 in a poll before the playoffs started, to me simply being there was kind of a victory in itself, and I thought if they even won one I'd just be happily surprised.

Serie isn't over, of course, and I want it to turn around, but if they don't, meh, no big deal, at the start of the season I expected them to finish bottom-12 or something, if anything it'll be the perfect 'exam' for Hughes to fix a couple things going forward.

They held their own for most of the game. It took 5 minutes of breakdowns for Caps to capitalize. I'm not saying Caps played like shit except those 4 minutes because they played great. But Habs were right there with them most of the game.

Don't have anger, I'm just pointing out the double standards here because I was called out for it a bunch in other PGTs in the past.

There's no double standard. My thoughts on each situation was and is explained in detail. That you don't agree doesn't make it a double standard and the call out after a playoff loss is unnecessary considering one of the players been out of for months and doesn't have a decade of history of being a weirdo and a headcase. I'd add I would say the same regarding Dach if he talked a big game then followed it up with one of the most embarassing playoff efforts I've seen. Hope this clarifies everything.

He was bad but ultimately he didn't have an impact on the game one way or the other (Caps goals came from a Savard own goal and a lazy backcheck by 4 Montreal players). Could've scored a point if Newhook didn't whiff an empty net.
