Post-Game Talk: Habs lose, eliminated from playoffs.

Primeau has been the best AHL goalie the past 2 months but I expect Fowler to get several starts. The best thing that could happen to Primeau is end up in a market like Seattle, Utah. High pressure markets aren't for him.

I agree. I suspect Dobes will backup Monty again and the management would prefer Fowler to get the bulk of starts without having to look over his shoulder at Primeau. He's still in the organization so I'm hoping all the best during the rocket run but Primeau should be done with the habs franchise for both the team and his sake

On the good side I get to shave off the playoff beard, surprising how much more grey has come in since our Cup run

Been a good run just ran out of gas. Huge offseason upcoming for HuGo knowing how far they are away from being in the mix to contending. If they want to take the next step identify the core of roster players and prospects and jettison the deadweight

To me dobes earned backup for next season
Like his attitude and makes big saves and covers net

The good news: we made the playoffs earlier than expected carried by our young core, and the young guys were our best players in the series. The future looks good.

The bad news that isn't really news because we all already knew this: the vets on the team currently are not good lol. Seriously, other than maybe Anderson and Carrier they were all pretty much on a range of invisible to outright bad.

I'm really looking forward to next season, this is such a key offseason to refresh the team with more impactful depth and hopefully add another good center. With the right moves I honestly think the team will be really good next year.

This was a fun season, it's awesome to cheer for wins again. Go Habs Go!

The whole team should sit together, grab a beer and watch the Jets Blues game. That's how intense you have to skate and play if you want to win a series.

You have to be big (no diddy

), heavy and skilled.

Do we go all in this summer or not yet??
We are years away. I hope they take their time and not get out of the rebuild too early. Keep accumulating first rate assets for the day we trade them for a key piece. Next year, you focus on integrating Reinbacher and Demidov (key parts of the future), and you hope and pray Dach and Newhook take a significant step up.

Winning the very first game in OT would had made a huge difference.

I was expecting them to grab 80-82 points and finish 10th or 11th in their Conference. They did better, thanks to Hutson, Suzuki and our third line. Plus: they were entertaining most of the time. And they will be even more next season with Demidov.

Anyway. We should all be proud of this young team. They gonna get better and better in the next few seasons. They still need a bit more size and grit. Thanks to Savard for his tremendous help and good retirement to him !

Hat tip to these lads. Played with heart all year, never gave up. They weren't even supposed to be here.

Youngest team in the playoffs and I'm sure this will be a great learning experience for them all. This is the most excited for the future of this org that I've been for a long time.

Congrats to the Caps.

It is always difficult to judge until you’re in the driver seat and show consistency over a long stretches but I truly believe Dobes has the making of a #1 goalie.

Source: I’ve been a goaltender and a goalie coach. Trust me guys (ok, I’m kidding, think what you want!)
I've observed many goalie clinics run by former NHL goalies, NHL goalie coaches and QMJHL goalie coaches. Nobody is teaching Dobes' unorthodox style these days. LOL! He's done well though...he's athletic and he battles.

Who knows? Hasek may be the most impactful goalie of all time and truly was the Dominator. I haven't seen an unorthodox goalie be close to that effective ever since though. They're all instructed to copy Price's technique and style.
